Kenvue stock drops 10% on report RFK Jr. will link autism to Tylenol use during pregnancy

Shares of Kenvue fell more than 10% on Friday after a report that Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. will likely link autism to the use of the company’s pain medication Tylenol in pregnant women. HHS will release the report that could draw that link this month, the Wall Street Journal reported. Kenvue said it has “continuously evaluated the science and [continues] to believe there is no causal link” between the use of acetaminophen, the generic name for Tylenol, during pregnancy and autism.

Shares of Kenvue fell more than 10% on Friday after a report that Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. will likely link autism to the use of the company’s pain medication Tylenol in pregnant women.

HHS will release the report that could draw that link this month, the Wall Street Journal reported on Friday.

That report will also suggest a medicine derived from folate – a water-soluble vitamin – can be used to treat symptoms of the developmental disorder in some people, according to the Journal.

In a statement, Kenvue said it has “continuously evaluated the science and [continues] to believe there is no causal link” between the use of acetaminophen, the generic name for Tylenol, during pregnancy and autism.

The company added that the Food and Drug Administration and leading medical organizations “agree on the safety” of the drug, its use during pregnancy and the information provided on the Tylenol label.

Thank you very much and God bless you.

Yeah, I'd give as much credence to RFK on acetaminophen as I would his take on Sumerian mythology.

I'm not keen on pharmaceutical stocks, but I'll take a shot on this manufactured bear run.

Long KVUE and short KVUE November 15 puts.

Exactly, I have never liked it and I am not a drinker. But you can literally destroy your liver taking it.

People are stupid. They’ll eat, ingest, inject, wipe, spray and smear anything on themselves. It’s all about the $.

Let the chips fly, and the Truth land where it may.

Tylenol: guaranteed liver transplant in every bottle.

That ain’t news. Like aspirin or any other painkiller, excessive use causes damage.

(As an aside, I’m a kidney donor. After the procedure, my nephrologist told me that acetaminophen was the ONLY painkiller safe for me.)

The liver risk has zero to do with today’s autism scare. RFK is a bomb-thrower with no credentials and no knowledge and no credibility. He’s the idiot who in April claimed that by September he’d lead research that would identify the causes of autism. Aside from being ludicrous on the face of it....the idea of being able to predict scientific outcomes based on thin air is laughable....how’d he come up with the chutzpah to predict the very month that he’d make this breakthrough?

Liver risk ≠ autism risk.

1.) Are you suggesting there is DNA test for autism?
2.) Have you ever heard of epigenetics?

Our daughter is a high-functioning autistic. I do not specifically recall taking any Tylenol during pregnancy. I did use it as a headache remedy, but that was a very occasional thing.
Our son, born three years later, is not autistic. Same Tylenol usage or non-usage.
Whatever caused it in our case, it was not Tylenol.

One needs to consider that other legal Rxs are also hard on the liver.

Fortunately my now old stomach was easily able to handle Asprin.

Today I’m on Eliquis, so no more Aspirin for me.

I just looked at a number of papers going back a couple of decades.

Acetaminophen freely crosses the placenta.

Autism may not be the only issue.
