Six weeks after Ozzy Osbourne's death, Roger Waters has criticized the heavy metal legend for bringing "hundreds of years" of "idiocy and nonsense" into the culture, prompting an angry reply from Osbourne's son Jack.
While speaking to the Independent Ink podcast in the video embedded below, the Pink Floyd legend spoke about how pop culture figures can distract people from important political issues.
While roleplaying as an unspecified person of power, he imagined how the nefarious process might work: "How can we push this to one side? I know how to do it! We'll do it with Taylor Swift or bubble gum or Kim Kardashian's bum."
After switching out of character, Waters then brought Osbourne into the conversation: "... Or Ozzy Osbourne, who just died, bless him, in his, whatever that state that he was in his whole life, we'll never know. Although, he was all over the TV for hundreds of years with his idiocy and nonsense."

He didn't stop there, moving on to attack Osbourne's music: "The music, I have no idea, I couldn't give a fuck. I don't care about Black Sabbath, I never did, I have no interest in.... 'Wahhhh!!!' (spoken while sticking his tongue out and doing an impression that looked more like Gene Simmons than Osbourne) and biting the heads off chickens or whatever they do. I couldn't care less."
When informed that Osbourne (accidentally, it should have been noted) bit the head off a bat, not a chicken, the Pink Floyd legend was even more revolted: "Oh my God, that's even worse, isn't it? I don't know, is it worse to bite the head off a bat or a chicken?"
Jack Osbourne Accuses Roger Waters of 'Vomiting Out Bullshit' Osbourne's son Jack was displeased with Waters' comments and hit back with the Instagram Stories message embedded below: "Hey Roger Waters - fuck you. How pathetic and out of touch you've become. The only way you seem to get attention these days is by vomiting out bullshit in the press. My father always thought you were a cunt - thanks for proving him right."
It's the second time in a week that one of Osbourne's children have come to his defense. Last week on WWE's Raw television show, professional wrestler Becky Lynch attacked Ozzy's hometown of Birmingham, promoting his daughter Kelly to call her a "disrespectful dirtbag."
Ozzy was in studio when donny and Marie Osmond did the track for “I’m a little bit country, I’m a little bit Rock and roll”. Donny asked ozzy after what he thought, and ozzy responded something like “it sounded a little bit foggy, didn’t it?ç lol!
I hated Changes when I first heard it.
Now in 2025 I love it
Met Roger’s son, Harry a couple of years ago. Apparently he was touring with Floyd when he and RW had a falling out.
I know that, I should have said playing 3 or 4 keys is kind of a nonsense career too, Roger.
I realized I goofed that up after I posted it. Pink Floyd were never really all that great as for as rock musicians go, IMO. Mostly slow acid rock which really isn’t all that hard to play. I know because I can.
It’s probably just me but I think his work on “Marooned” sounds a lot like Gibbons on “Rough Boy”
Waters is a flaccid sausage fellator.
I've that complaint from both liberals and conservatives.
Pink Floyd was talentless and a phony. They wanted during a time of drugs and rock-n-roll to be thought of as spiritual, so they whispered the lyrics. Big deal.
I can’t believe someone thinks Ozzy is about Black Sabbath. He went on to do much, much more on his own.
Joke’s on him, I guess.
I was into other music old and all kinds of differing genré. Pink Floyd and Black Sabbath weren’t included, neither did the Beatles. Radio? Two College stations one of which played Old Timey jug band stuff and bluegrass 24/7. Easy listening from the 40s, 50s & 60s then I went into in a Jazz coma. If wanted to hear rock it was Led, Purple, and The Dead, in that order.
He’s liberal and whack politics too that defies label
A sad unhappy troubled man
Not a gentleman. Like Gilmour a lib too but impeccable manners
One of my favorite songs of that period of Pink Floyd.
Rogers is a douchebag and Gilmour is a great musician.
This, and “The Nile Song”.
I agree with all of this.
Both Black Sabbath and Pink Floyd were great in the ‘70s and ‘80s. I bought albums from both bands. Those of us who were fans of one were usually fans of the other, too.
Perhaps Osbourne was a thug in the best sense of the word but waters is a socialist thug in the truest meaning of a SOCIALIST THUG. You know... the ones who are rich AND screaming about how horrible capitalism and capitalists are but are still not giving all of THEIR money away to the poor folks who would do better with it than this blowhard does. Interested to know who had made more money off their music though and who, exactly, earned more worldwide fake... Ozzy or waters.
Bringing up four chord songs, Axis of Awesome had a far better 4 chord song than waters could have ever conjured up. Look it up and give it a listen. It’s AWESOME!
Roger Waters and Pink Floyd lyrics are anti-establishment, anti-big government, anti war, pro peace, pro people. To say Waters is a communist implies that he wants everyone to be controlled by government handouts. Thats total bs, man. Where tf do you come up with that crap. Read the lyrics of the songs (which i wont post). Us And Them. Watch Roger Waters, The Wall 2014. He’s against the cruel liberal progressive gov’t control of the people...just like whats happening in the UK right now.
