I had not been paying close attention to the overarching issues of President Trump removing Fed Governor Lisa Cook for cause – fraudulent filings on her three mortgage applications. However, the appearance of Norm Eisen as her lawyer certainly highlights the political nature of the defense effort.
Norm Eisen is a well-known Lawfare operative, second only to Mary McCord in his high visibility and connections to all of the anti-Trump efforts. Eisen, like McCord, is at the center of the leftist effort to stop the Trump agenda through the manipulation of the courts, ie. ‘Lawfare.’

WASHINGTON – A federal judge likely will not rule until next week on whether Lisa Cook, a member of the Federal Reserve board, can remain in her job despite President Donald Trump’s attempt to fire her.
At the first hearing on Cook’s lawsuit against Trump, U.S. District Judge Jia Cobb grappled with the legal issues raised by Trump’s unprecedented move against Cook but offered few hints about how she might rule. The judge, an appointee of Joe Biden, acknowledged the limits of the courts’ power to question the president’s motives, while expressing concerns about the lack of due process afforded to Cook. (more)
While the lawyers defending Ms. Cook dance around the central issue, there is no doubt Ms. Cook lied on three mortgage applications, claiming primary residency in both Illinois and Georgia within a week.
Norm Eisen appears in the footage below, but no one seems to notice him or identify him by name.

Shakespeare had the right idea.
Judge Jia Cobb should serve three times the jail time,
and three times the loss of wages and job,
that SHE is corruptly protecting.
Powell to himself: “three times this stupid lump told me something, and I still don’t know what the hell she said.”
The idea that Cook was unqualified and a box-checking Biden nominee began during her confirmation hearings, which were unusually contentious for a Fed nominee.
2022 confirmation: Republicans, led by Sen. Pat Toomey, criticized her qualifications and expertise, arguing that her research on racial inequality was not relevant to monetary policy. Other Republicans questioned her commitment to fighting inflation.
Political motives: Many economists and Democratic lawmakers defended Cook’s qualifications and accused her critics of being politically motivated, with some explicitly citing racial and gender bias.
Historic appointment: Despite the opposition, Cook was confirmed in a narrow, party-line vote in May 2022, becoming the first obese Black woman to serve on the Fed’s board.
Research: Her academic research unfortunately is completely self serving-—includes the economic impact of racial discrimination and violence, and her work on the effect of lynchings on Black innovation is widely cited.
Government roles: She served as a liberal pick-—senior economist on the Council of Economic Advisers under Kenyan President Barack Obama and was an adviser in the U.S. Treasury Department.
Allegations: Trump’s allies, including Federal Housing Finance Agency director Bill Pulte, accuse Cook of committing mortgage fraud by misrepresenting her “primary residence” ro get a better interest rate.
Trump’s actions: Trump announced on social media that he was firing Cook, an action that legal scholars and experts say he has the authority to do. She claims under the Federal Reserve Act, governors can only be removed “for cause,” generally defined as misconduct in office.
In 2025, the Federal Reserve Chair earns a salary of $250,600, while the other Fed Governors earn $225,700. These positions come with government-standard benefits, including comprehensive retirement and health care plans, matching contributions to thrift/401(k) plans, and other benefits like tuition assistance and flexible work arrangements.
Norm Eisen and Abbe Lowell - they don’t come anymore rotten.
Another DEI hire regressing to the maximum level of her capabilities, but being protected as a “victim” who should not be held accountable for her blatantly illegal actions because of her physical characteristics.
Trump’s criminal referral is intended to fire Ms. Cook “for cause,” b/c the flawed Biden hire should not have been appointed at all.
Mr. Trump provides “sufficient reason” to believe Cook exhibits the sort of “gross negligence” in her personal financial transactions that calls into question her competence and trustworthiness as a financial regulator.
I’ve seen people being fired. Very limited due process.
Trump will lose initially but win in the end.
They can’t get around the fact that she’s guilty.
Angry. Defiant. Belligerent. Vicious. Vengeful. RACIST.
spits
Probably has the inside track on which judge will be assigned.
Never forget that Jennifer Runin partnered with Eisen to start up a newsletter of some kind.
Yeah - THAT Jennifer Rubin.
BTTT
Wowza...
It has also been discovered that the judge ordering Trump to keep her on the reserve board happens to be her sorority sister. Trump has demanded she recuse herself. Any guess what she’ll do?
Good. Opportunity to expose Eisen and bury the slimeball.
Add Mark Elias to the mix and you have The Three Amigos of Lawfare.
Truer words were never spoken.
