NFL relaxes some restrictions for Tom Brady as a broadcaster/team owner

Tom Brady will have fewer NFL-imposed restrictions on him this season as he enters his second year as an analyst on games broadcast on Fox.

The restrictions were placed on the legendary quarterback last August when his purchase of a 10% stake in the Las Vegas Raiders was pending approval from the league owners. Brady’s minority stake was approved in October.

One of the so-called Brady Rules enacted by the NFL prohibited the rookie broadcaster from attending production meetings during which the Fox crew meets with coaches and players ahead of that week’s game.

Conflict of interest rules be dammed. He's the GOAT and it's MONEY. Pretty boys will always get special treatment. Running the Raiders is not high profile enough. It's the cameras that are important. Banning him from the booth would be like banning Taylor Swift from the stadium. The NFL big wigs would sell out their grandmothers if they were still alive.

Don’t forget how they milked Kapernick. Any publicity is good publicity.

It was a silly idea. Nobody really discusses anything important with the TV people. And it wasn’t banning him from the booth, it was the prep interviews. You know when the color commentator says “we were talking to the coaches this week...” those interviews. Where, again, no strategy or anything important is ever discussed.

Yes. Televised football has become a production for entertainment purposes and maximum financial value. Now we know why they are paid so much.

They must remain real quiet.

The nfl is quite adept at not killing the golden goose.....they’ve done it with players and coaches for decades.

Tv stations thst broadcast games as well.

-

On the flip side, if they want you gone....you’re gone. You can ask John Gruden about that.

They need to fix the "Mahomes problem". He exploits the rules because he knows that the officials are protecting him so he takes advantage of late QB slides and "flopping" to draw penalties.

This dude with the funny haircut runs the Raiders.

He's apparently related to the dude on the right in this picture... But I think he looks more like the dude on the left.

Conflict of interest? It’sa kids game for crying out loud. They afraid Brady might slant his conjecture and comments towards his team? Would it mess up fantasy football? Silliness…

Every business kills the golden goose. That’s why 90% of them eventually go out of business. With the NFL people will think it will last forever like the gladiators in Rome. Just look at MTV or rock n’ roll. Rap? Eventually people will get over their fixation with victimhood and the guilt that comes with it.

The NFL-14 playoff teams out of 32 total. One or 2 make it that shouldn’t be in the playoffs. Rule changes every year to stay ahead of the fans.
Major League Baseball. The DH-it stinks. It diluted strategy so people could see more offense.

Let’s not forget airhead sideline reporters following up one stupid question with another. All business go down the same path.

They had good management in the NFL for a long time. And I have to say the same regarding the MLB.

It appears that David Stern was the only decent commissioner during the NBA's Golden Age. The league was bad before him. Now it's bad again.

It’s the APPEARANCE of the conflict that must be avoided. The NFL isn’t even trying in this case.

Conflict of interest?

They owners of the NFL korporation have contracts with online gambling korporations.

The "sport" is as real as WWE wrestling. Just waiting for someone to jump off a ladder and hit Tom Brady on the head with a folding chair.

Oh my. Don’t know anything about him, but with that gig he’s got to be rich. You’d think he could afford a more convincing wig than that

Brady giving commentary is no conflict of interest, and personally, I’d like to hear how he thinks. We’ve seen him in action enough...

Now conflict of interest concerning the NFL is ghetto thugs getting away with bad to criminal behavior; gay and trans cheerleaders, BLM worship, NFL goal line socialist slogans, people like Bob Costa spouting off about Trump and politics that have NOTHING to do with football and kneeling disrespectfully for our beloved national anthem.

They probably also wanted to make sure he didn’t jump back in as a player. It was as good to have strict rules until they were sure he was completely done as a football player. They must be satisfied now. Good for Brady and Fox.

There are no more convincing wigs. This was proven by Michael Milliken back in the 1980s: If a guy that rich cannot find a more convincing hairpiece, they don't exist.

Well, he pretty much violated the restrictions last year. He isn’t supposed to criticize the referees because he’s an owner now. He did. And people who call the games get to meet with the teams and they possibly have access to the opposing teams game plan, and other info that could be of use to the team they’re playing. He did something he wasn’t supposed to do with regard to that.
