Re the featured book, "Red: A history of the Redhead" by Jacky Colliss Harvey:
Live online discussion about the book RED from Jacky Colliss Harvey
Through Jacky Colliss Harvey, author of the book RED: A History of Redheads, who regularly attends the RHD, we were introduced to the Redhead Project (redheadproject.net).
This is a collaborative photography project based in New York. The project captures the unique stories and personalities of redheads worldwide. Launched in February 2013, the project currently includes 565 redheads, photographed on four continents.
The Redhead Project book club is launching soon. And you can be a part of it! You can join the co-founders of The Redhead Project (redheadproject.net), New York photographer Keith Barraclough (keithbarraclough.com), and producer Kate Lorenz for a live online conversation from New York with Jacky about her book RED.
The idea is for redheads from all over the world to join.
Subscribe (for free) on Substack at redheadproject.substack.com to receive the event link and join The Redhead Project Book Club discussion, where we invite readers to ask questions and share their insights about Jacky's book before the interview on August 30th.
The official launch of the book club, including the discussion (link included), will be announced soon on Substack, scheduled for August 30th from 5:30-6:30 PM (CEST).
Scottish, here. You’d never know it unless I grew a mustache, especially considering that I’m about 3/4 Italian (with blue eyes as well).
Old men can dream !
Who is that Hottie?
Interesting perhaps: redheads are more common in Northwestern Europe and Scandinavia than they are in the Celtic fringes of Western Ireland and Northern Scotland. One reason maybe that people in the Gaelic-speaking regions actually have much pre-Celtic ancestry.
Me....years ago. LOL!
;)
I just watched that movie a few days ago. Had never heard of it before. Loved it!
Too bad about their being soulless.....
I remember reading about this when they first started! I think the story goes that someone did the math and realized that redheads were becoming less and less so they started this. There were hundreds of weddings and babies born as a result of this when redheads were matching up at this gathering!! ๐จโ๐ฆฐ๐จโ๐๐ฉโ๐ฆฐ
Where are pics of handsome red-headed men?

This is my redheaded, blue-eyed sister who left us less than five years ago. (Cancer sucks.) She was such a light.
They’re not near a bank, perchance?
Look at my pretty Sis!
Beautifully dressed and ready
to take on the day!
