A pint-sized guitarist, 10-year-old Bay Melnick Virgolino, had the America's Got Talent audience rocking out on Monday's second round of the quarterfinals.
He is young, yes, but not shy about showing celebrity judges Mel B, Simon Cowell, Howie Mandel, and Sofia Vergara what he could do with Joan Jett & the Blackhearts' "I Love Rock 'n' Roll" in the last moments of the live episode. They were loving it as much as the crowd.
"Wow, wow, wow!" Vergara said. "What a way to close the show. You're like a mini rock star!"

Proof that most rock stars are overgrown ten-year-olds.
Yup. Couldn’t believe his virtuoso. However, his vocals were weak but then he’s only 10. With the right management and songs, he is destined to become a true guitar rock star. I was amazed.
He has ‘Superstar’ written all over him!.......................
I have not been watching America’s Got Talent very much - too many lousy or not so good acts. I did see this kids initial audition, and his semifinal performance. He’s going to go big places in the rock music world.
Two of the cute comments were, when asked who was there with him, he turned toward the side of the stage behind the curtain where stood his mom and dad, and he said “my mom and dad are here” then made a big smile and said “they’re my roadies”. And when his mom was asked where he gets his talent she answered it was not from her or her husband - “we’re not musical”.
But they did support him, honoring his request at 5 years old to get him guitar lessons. He had been playing a toy guitar since age of three. Now at ten years old he plays electric guitar like a rock start veteran.
P.S. There are some better videos of his performances on Youtube.
He has potential but much of what did is possible because of the massive distortion and sustain via effects. You would be less impressed if he had to switch to acoustic. Very good for a 10 year old though and l think he will probably be a very good player.
Without a doubt. And the way he handled the judges and the huge crowd with such aplomb was phenomenal for a kid his age. He was the best act of night. He's got mine and my Wife's vote so far. If I see one more dancing troupe I'm going to throw up.
My second favorite was the opening act called "CityLight"? Those dark stage acts with all their lights traveling all over the stage with their big background screens are mesmerizing. I believe there are one or two from AGT who already have their own rooms in Vegas.
He sounds like he’s 10 years old.
No kidding? Haha.
I watched his fingers because I play some rhythm guitar, (I'm a rock/jazz drummer to this day). I've played that Jett song many times and know the chords and the lead I saw some mistakes even with the special effects. However, he showed how he can grow with his speed and the nailing many of the riffs. He mostly needs to improve his vocals.
Still, he nailed the song on his quitar. He has a future in music. Question is, will he become a studio backup or find the right songs? I'm waiting for a new band or a player to bring the 80's back. I'm sick of the rap/pop/diva dancing crap.
Kid Rock did his All Summer Long live at an awards show and then brought on Skynyrd to transition into Sweet Home Alabama. The crowd went wild!
This kid could be the reboot of Leppard, Aerosmith, Bon Jovi, Guns n Roses, Duran Duran, Prince, and so many more.
It's time for those reboots.
You have a point. Let's see if he could do Knock, Knocking on Heavens door with some interesting notes. Or some other acoustic. Let's just see what the kid can actually do.
What? White people have talent too?? Who knew!
As long as he doesn’t do the Guns n Roses version. IMNSHO (guitar player for 60 yrs), that really stinks.

Past time.
Music today sucks.
