I tried for several years to like Scotch. Aged MacCallans, Balvenies, Laphroaigs... High end stuff. They sit on the shelves in my clubroom 80% still full. Bleh! Blends like Johnnie Walker Gold and Blue are okay. Remind me Hibiki. That's all I can say for spirits from Scotchland.
American bourbons are more agreeable to these tastes.
Less to do with “Supply chain”, and more to do with tariff avoidance, right?

Could you recommend a good peated single malt Scotch? I had a great one that I bought in Edinburgh a few years ago but I can’t remember the name. The peated scotch I’ve bought here just doesn’t rank.

Is the six year any good? 10 year and up is pricey.
I have a couple bottles of 15 year old single malt Scotch that I received as Christmas presents. They’re still mostly full because I’m not thrilled with the taste. Oddly enough I like Chivas Regal, which is a blended Scotch whisky.
I prefer a decent bourbon. Usually I buy Buffalo Trace because I like the taste and consider it a good value.
I also like top shelf tequila such as Patron. There’s a bottle of Plata waiting for me in the cupboard.
F Carney! Keep the tariffs in place until the Canucks buckle. Even better, double the tariff rate until they do! We really don’t need Canada at all, but they absolutely need us. I wish they would get that fact through their frozen skulls
I like the 12-year-old, it is pricey, never had the six year.
