The BBC has defended its use of female pronouns to describe a transgender killer who stabbed their partner to death with a samurai sword.
Joanna Rowland-Stuart, who was born male and was known as John Stuart, attacked Andrew Rowland-Stuart at their Brighton home in 2024...
A number of people contacted the BBC to complain. One wrote: “Using female pronouns to refer to a man is not accurate.”
Another said: “The suspect is a man. When the public see the words ‘wife’ and ‘woman’ they will assume you mean an adult human female.”
However, the BBC rejected the complaints.
Some complainants said that the BBC’s choice of language was evidence of its “clear deference to gender identity ideology”.
Rowland-Stuart, 71, was deemed unfit to plead following a psychiatric assessment.
The court heard that Rowland-Stuart claimed to have acted in self-defence, but the 70-year-old victim’s injuries were consistent with being “stabbed and sliced” more than 50 times.

One could also state the obvious “Using ‘their’ in reference to both the singular and the plural is not accurate, either.”

Amazing, is it not, that it only takes a few decades to change the BBC from “most respected” to “You’ve gotta be shi...er...Obama-ing me.”
They don’t do it so much out of respect for the trans killer, but out of respect for all the trans people who aspire to be killers.

I even had a FReeper arguing with me on a thread not too long ago. He even posted a link for me in support of his position that using “they” and “them” for a singular antecedent is now acceptable.
Eunuch is a larger set than woman who is man to woman i.e., trans). Historically, there are castrati or Ottoman eunuchs. There, the idea was to blunt their maleness, either to keep their voices high or to keep them from being tempted when guarding women. However, castration was enough, just as it is for a steer. They didn't take extra hormones, or wear the bodywork costume of deceptive cosmetic surgery.
We need crime stats for "eunuch on eunuch" crime
