There’s a certain way Democrat leaders are speaking in recent days, and they’re all expressing some variation of what the party’s national committee chair said this week: Democrats “cannot be the only party that plays by the rules anymore.”
Everyone should interpret that to mean Democrats are out for blood, literally.
That’s in no way an overstatement, not least because Democrats spent a significant portion of the last election season openly fantasizing about legally murdering Donald Trump (and then ultimately shrugging when he was actually shot). There’s simply no other way to explain it.
To be sure, here’s what Democratic National Committee head Ken Martin said in full: “I’m sick and tired of this Democratic Party bringing a pencil to a knife fight. We cannot be the only party that plays by the rules anymore. We’ve got to stand up and fight. We’re not going to have a hand tied behind our back anymore. Let’s grow a damn spine and get in this fight, Democrats.”
First, it’s preposterous to claim that Democrats are in an electoral rut because they’re so nitpicky about rules or because Republicans have dominated them by cheating. To the contrary, Republicans are the ones who were still campaigning like it was 1998 after Democrats figured out how to harvest ballots from even the most apathetic, low-info voters with their mail-in and drop-box schemes. And when the party wasn’t sure that would work in 2024, Democrat election administrators attempted to keep the leading Republican presidential candidate’s name off voter ballots.
To the extent that Democrats are too trifling when it comes to rules and process, it’s that they’re constantly trying to change them.
Second, is there some recent political episode I missed wherein Democrat opposition to Republicans was so lacking in effort that you had to wonder if they were even awake? Because I’m old enough to remember when a Democrat U.S. senator literally flew to Central America in an attempt to retrieve a foreign national who had been deported by the Trump administration and was credibly accused of being both a violent Latin gang affiliate as well as a woman abuser.
I can also recall Democrats refusing to cooperate with federal authorities on removing violent criminal aliens from the interior; Democrats suing the administration for firing useless bureaucrats; and Democrats threatening to block government funding because the president was actually doing the things he was elected to do.
So, when party leaders assert that it’s time to up the ante, there’s no logical conclusion to draw from it other than that they’re eager and ready to cross the point of no return. There’s nothing left but that. They’re that desperate and they’re openly admitting it.
Again, it’s not like it wasn’t just last year that the current president was nearly assassinated twice. Democrats have done their best to black out those memories, and for obvious reasons. Those events didn’t reflect too well on them.
They keep using the “knife fight” metaphor. It’s safe to assume they no longer mean it as one.

Every moment they spend attacking Trump is a moment they do not spend advancing an alternative. Gingrich was brilliant, as the country was not thrilled with Clinton in 1993, and he used the “Contract with America” framework to win over people who wanted to hear an alternative. That paid off big in 1994.

Very good point. They don’t have an alternative. The problem being that their base is so large and “diverse” that they can’t come up with an alternative that will not piss off some large portion of their base. What do the purple hair nose ring types have in common with the Muslims, the blacks, the Hispanics? I watched this ultra-liberal white woman on YouTube who had driven eight hours to attend a big party rally and was kept out because the way she wore her hair was a cultural appropriation. She was so done with the Democrats.

Democrats threw the rule book out long ago. They decided to weaponize the federal government and perpetuate frauds like Russiagate. Impeachment proceedings could be manufactured out of thin air with no basis in fact. The media has invented egregious incidents that are now resulting in libel judgments and out of court settlements. Hate is now their primary motivation that will likely escalate into violent behavior for which they will expect immunity based upon their noble intentions. Trump is treating them as he has been treated by them. That’s what’s got their panties in a wad.
Next cycle, any dumbocrat should carry a “pro violence, pro crime” tag when referenced by their conservative opponent. Every time. Plenty of material out there to be used.
This is simple gaslighting by the dems, from actblue illegal funding schemes to the influx of illegal aliens inflating constituent counts that screw the dem representation in the House to the astroturfed protest by hired protesters to give the illusion of national discontent to the complicit media that pushes mischaracterizations of President Trumps and others word to foment outrage.
The dems haven’t played by the rules in my entire lifetime and I’m 64 years old.
It was President Trump who called them on their bull shit and changed the way the game is played forever if we can just refuse to let them get away with it.

I’ve started concealed carry at all times. There are a lot of DemonRATS here. I’m going to start carrying a tazer and bear spray in my car. “Enough is Enough!” I’ve had all I can take from these communist pigs. If I can save one elderly woman or elderly man from being beat up, it will be worth it.

What rules would those be? I wasn't aware that any rules restrained Democrat righteousness, so measured and civilized they have been.
They chant “no justice, no peace” for decades, especially regarding black people, often criminals, and no one bats an eye...
The democrats have NOTHING to offer than terrorism to pump up their tribe and cover up all the gains Trump has done he’s destroyed their master plan of socialism.
