SORRY-—THEY DIDN’T USE ENOUGH DIFFERENT EXAMPLES:
HIT A FULL GROWN PIG & IT CAN LAUNCH YOU A LONG DISTANCE.

Around here, you probably also own a local rancher for the value of the cow. Open Range laws.
I hit a plain old white-tail deer in a minivan going 40 mph, and it totaled the car.
It appeared to be only fender and quarter-panel work, but it also cracked the engine mounts, which boosted the insurance repair cost over the book-value of the car.
Today’s body panels are slightly more than foil. An Anorexic Badger collision could total a car made today. The only thing keeping the body panels rigid is the cured paint layer.
“Cows not at the top of my list,” Hershberger said. “Horses, elk, and moose will do more damage. But I was going to hit any of those, I’d want to be in a truck — the chance of putting the animal in the cab with you is greatly reduced.”
Do you get to keep the meat?
Hitting a cow can derail a train...
As it often did in early railroad history...
See “cow catcher”.
Since the steer won’t steer, you will have to.
The steakholder is stronger than the stakeholder.
It won’t moooooove, so you will have to.
Hitting a person can cause a lot of damage to your car, let alone a cow.
I tell my wife constantly: “Hit a deer head on. Swerve to miss an elk, you’re better off rolling the car than have the elk come through the windshield.”
We moved to a fairly rural area about 17 years ago. We had been in Germany before that, so our oldest (age 17 at the time) hadn’t started learning to drive yet.
I was in no hurry, because he tended to be a bit reckless in everything else and I wasn’t sure he was ready yet. My wife took his side, and said “There’s nothing around here! What is he going to hit, a cow?”
The next day’s paper had a front page article about a driver being killed by crashing into a cow. It was a shame the guy died, but it was great timing.
(Our son did get his permit shortly after. I might have jokingly told him to watch out for cows a few times.)
The other morning I had to stop my truck because a cow was running down the middle of the road. Immediately I saw the farmer on his four wheeler rushing to corral to escaped bovine. Of course the jack ass behind me couldn’t wait and tried to pass. I pulled out and blocked him while the farmer got the cow back.
You don't want a hit a moose either... Long legs, meaning you get about of thousand pounds of moose steak in your face. In some provinces they actually have fencing to keep moose off the highways.
Dated a woman many years ago that hit someone who darted out between cars. Simply no way to avoid her. The pedestrian died at the scene. The windshield and hood were damaged pretty severely with the windshield depressed in the general outline of a person. My friend took a few months to recover from that - nothing she could have done. Very sad.
Drive a tank, and you won’t have to worry about a cow... or an elephant.
But try taking on a whale and you will lose everytime.
Hitting a buffalo would be even worse.
