Some have stated they think this is intentional to kill the business and then somebody (Blackrock) comes in and buys the real eatate.

In some cases I’m thinking the CEOs are not tone deaf, but flaming anti American liberals willing to burn down their companies “for the cause”.

Was reading about Vegas losing tourists and a person was complaining that all the themed casinos were slowly being replaced by nondescript glass towers for rich clients. I don’t know if Cracker Barrel went “woke” I do know they are the victim to current trend of making everything as dull as possible.
Can’t have anything fun or kitsch unless its done ironically. Everything must be dull grey or look like an apple store.

“ And yet companies keep going there. Corporate managers, it turns out, are a politically and socially tone-deaf bunch.”

They can’t be that tone deaf. There has to be another factor

Leftists keep taking over American companies and implanting their version of a “poison pill.” Either keep patronizing the woke businesses, ensuring they can continue to be used to spread leftist ideology and perversion, or boycott those companies, destroying them financially. Either way the leftist ghouls win, by turning turning your favorite wholesome company into a leftist perversion factory, or by pushing you to destroy it yourself in anger.

I’m convinced that was the conscious plan with Disney. Plan A was to twist and pervert everything it previously stood for, actually turning it into a vehicle for perverting young children, but if enough people rose up and pushed back Plan B was to ignore them and keep pushing the garbage they hated so they they themselves would eventually destroy the company.

Their highest priority was to pervert good, wholesome companies, thereby denying normal Americans what they had previously enjoyed, but they are equally happy to just tick off those people to the point that THEY destroy the company, similarly denying themselves access to what that company was before. It’s literally demonic.

Add Gillette Razors, and Jaguar vehicles, to that WOKE-wall-of-shame.

Larry Fink, of Blackrock, bragged that social changes and objectives would be tied to market access to capital. As did Vanguard, Fidelity, and venture capital banks. They even created a scoring system for compliance. Unfortunately the score had nothing to do with financial performance or stability.

To be fair, CB was not doing well financially even before this recent nonsense. They may simply be facing a long term decline due to demographics, with their core customer base aging out of the marketplace.

I think many of these restaurant chains are not long for the world.

Black Rock, State Street, Vanguard, Engine No. 1, certain private equity, hedge funds along with other woke investors have a reason to buy and destroy firms.

And we know it. Just like the New York AG destroyed Whole Foods to let Amazon buy them.

Anyone who dares to challenge the establishment is being destroyed everywhere by these big name funds.

I think it depends on the company’s original market. Those that have to pay the DEI cost mostly are companies who ignore their original customers and took 180°. Budlight, JC Peney, and Volvo are few examples of this group.

In the meantime, if NYT or Ben&Jerry announce even stronger DEI commitment, nothing will change.

This seems to be the formula:
1. buy controlling interest in a conservative patriotic or america 1st company.
2. install a woke/marxist ceo
3. destroy the company from within.

I don’t see the problem with the new logo or lightening up the interior. But they need to keep the old country store motif also, otherwise, may as well go to Dennys or IHOP
