The Rhode Island assistant attorney general, whose arrest went viral earlier this week after she seemingly tried to use her position to evade arrest, telling officers they'd "regret" putting her behind bars, will be placed on unpaid leave.
Special Assistant Attorney General Devon Flanagan, who was arrested for trespassing, was placed on paid leave directly after the incident while the Rhode Island Attorney General's office reviewed the matter. But, starting Monday, Flanagan will go on unpaid leave, the office told Fox News Digital.
It is unclear how long Flanagan will remain on unpaid leave until a final determination is made on her employment. The Attorney General's office did not respond to additional questions about its ongoing review of the matter, or when it might make a final decision.
State payroll records, according to the Boston Globe, show that Flanagan was raking in approximately $113,000 a year in her position as a Special Assistant Attorney General.
"I'm an AG! I'm an AG!" Flanagan could be heard saying to police as they tried to detain her for failing to comply with their demands. "You're going to regret this. You're going to regret it. I'm an A-" Flanagan said as she was escorted to the back of a police car and the door was shut.
"Good for you, I don't give a s---," one of the arresting officers can be heard saying back at one point.

Well, that’s a surprise.
And that’s the way it should always be. Misbehavior should not be rewarded with a paid vacation.
And if the person is later shown to be innocent, he gets all back pay plus interest.
He’s got 110 other lawyers ... he put her on unpaid leave until the story dies down and then bring her back. Delusional ... claims there is a lawyer shortage.
Require her video to be broadcast on all the leftwing crappy media for a month That sounds like justice to me.
No one is asking the big question. Why didn’t she leave when asked by the restaurant? It’s extremely obnoxious to keep the tired workers from going home. Who does she think she is? What a witch.
I’d really like to buy the officer a beer.
Only liberals would drag it out. I’d fire her immediately. She abused her position for personal gain.
Fire and prosecute.
After a cooling-off period there will probably be tears, apology, “it’s not who I am”, and re-instatement.
Because Democrat.
What were the dynamic duo doing, that resulted in their ejection from this fine establishment to begin with? I don’t believe this has been revealed.
Some of my favorite cop videos are those of the “don’t you know who I am?” genre.
She’ll be re-instated quietly after the uproar simmers down.
There was a drunk driving incident with another employee of the RI AG’s office a few years ago.
They were eventually fired.
Of course this incident is not as severe.
That guy was rehired
She got too big for her britches. I wonder why the restaurant wanted her out. I’d love to hear that story.
The Rhode Island woman.......an assistant attorney general...... whose arrest went viral earlier this week after she seemingly tried to use her position to evade arrest, telling officers they’d “regret” putting her behind bars, will be placed on unpaid leave, her job future unclear.
Nice
Devon Flanagan was ejected from the Clarke Cooke House restaurant in Newport, Rhode Island, because she and her companion refused to leave after being asked to do so by the restaurant, leading to an arrest for trespassing.
Flanagan, a Rhode Island special assistant attorney general, was then charged with trespassing and became defensive and berated police officers who responded to the scene, telling them they would “regret this”.
The incident gained wider attention after viral body camera footage showed her behavior towards the officers.
Unsubstantiated speculation from elsewhere is that the tony restaurant had a dress code. Something like men must wear tie and jacket. Since the men didn’t meet the code they were refused seating. The two women, who were drunk in the first place, demanded to be seated anyway and were therefore trespassing.
“Devon Flanagan”
You would think those Irish chicks could hold their liquor a bit better.
She is typical of the mindset government employees have towards the rest of society.
You are the serf.
