That woman has no clue as to what she should be doing.

Well if it wasn’t relevant before it certainly isn’t relevant now. I and my family won’t be going back anytime soon.

That woman has no clue as to what she should be doing.

Are you asking us to believe that a woman whose educational background consists of a bachelor's degree in Communications from Miami University has no idea how to run a major company?

Probably was already loosing money. Will probably go out of business at an accelerated pace. The so called make over will send a dying brand into an earlier grave.

She could be correct, because the customers are probably aging out. However, the solution is not to eliminate the heritage of the company but to offer new things in the style of what made Cracker Barrel famous, down home cooking.

I really don’t care if Cracker Barrel is creating a new image. The food is the main thing and if that is not all there, then forget it.

I ate there last month. For the first time in over 5 years. It’ll be another 5 years before I eat there again. The food is mediocre.

Chain restaurants generally suck.

Didn’t they float the idea a couple years ago to paint the rocking chairs out front rainbow colors?

And got major pushback so they nixed it

The demographic that eats there are mostly elderly white people who aren’t into the Woke crap

So that’s what happened to Taco Bell! She was the CEO! No wonder I never go there any more.

They could have leveraged the history of CB to introduce some new down home food, like southern bbq or corn on the cob, creamy cole slaw, grilled chicken, black eyed peas, collard greens, cornbread, etc..and some newer types of food...but have kept the down home vibe...maybe streamline the kitschy stuff that was on the walls...if they want a newer market, they need a new restaurant brand... don’t kill a successful brand... that’s stupid.

I used to like eating there all the time, but not so much anymore. Just before the COVID scandemic, Cracker Barrel had some things I like.

One - they had a brand of soda from a company called Stewart's. They still have the root beer - which I still like - but they used to have an orange cream soda which were great. Shortly after reopening during the scandemic, they got rid of all the Stewart's sodas except for the root beer.

Two - the rocking chairs. In certain areas, they had specialty rocking chairs - emblems of the local colleges. In Annapolis, they had a Naval Academy chair. After the scandemic, those special rocking chairs disappeared. Now, jut plain rocking chairs. Three - the service and wait staff has gone donw the drain. Especially when you pay. One cash register open and a long line.

It will probably be what some Freepers have stated - these and other changes will push the brand into an early grave.

I don’t know why she is clueless, just that she is clueless.

“The demographic that eats there are mostly elderly white people who aren’t into the Woke crap”

The problem is that elderly people are not long term customers.

They have cornbread and creamy slaw, in the form of little corn muffins and that pale almost white cabbage that all the restaraunts use these days because they are afraid to use the beautiful green outer leaves of cabbage, for some reason.

They have a BBQ style chicken that is good. But, they could probably do better if the offered true BBQ.

Freshen the green beans up, I don’t think too many people these days yearn for the old cooked to death olive drab beans of pot luck days.

Turnip greens with smoked turkey in them would be great but not sure if younger generations even eat greens.

Good creamy slaw...not that bitter stuff from a carton will keep me going there.. Big cornbread squares, moist with butter and honey...not little muffins...real smoked bbq...not bbq with bbq sauce on it ..used to be a place in l.a..The Pantry....best slaw...2nd best slaw was Les Sisters...southern home cooking...if they keep losing stock valuation the big investor gonna start dumping which will accelerate the losses...if no confidence in management...the brand will be snapped up in bankruptcy court.
