The only reason anyone ever ate at Craker Barrel was the atmosphere with all the antique trinkets and stuff everywhere. Nobody ever ate there because the food was good. It was bland. Now there’s no reason for anyone to ever eat there again.
This is another example of a CEO who feels he must do something dramatic to justify his high salary.
And “steady as she goes” just isn’t dramatic enough.

How in the world did a company like Cracker Barrel end up with a ‘woke’ CEO like her in the first place? I’m asking because I really don’t know all the background on this story.

I have only eaten at a Cracker Barrel once when we were visiting my Aunt and Uncle in Florida about ten years ago. I love traditional American restaurant food, so I enjoyed my meal. My wife liked it to. We have a Cracker Barrel about 60 miles from our home; on numerous occasions my wife and I have discussed stopping there.
Knowing that the corporation is now run by woke idiots, we definitely will not bother.

The draw of CB was its DIFFERENCE, not its SAMENESS. It had a unique charm, which made up for the fact that the food generally wasn't something to write home about.
Just like Hooters without the girls is just another food joint, Cracker Barrel without the old-time decor and atmosphere is just another food joint.
Sterilizing the logo was just the last straw for a lot of people.

Large corporate food conglomerates like Cracker Barrel don’t technically care about preparing good food. Their first concern is cost. Then shrink factor, next plate-abilty by an untrained staff, and eye appeal. The Cracker Barrel model is one of the worst, as their target market are hurried travelers. No primary need for regular repeat customers.
first sign of trouble was the mimosa. It is as out of place as a hippy stopping by the country store my dad and I played dominoes in.
I question the competence of those stock traders and investors who sold on the news of this chicken shit issue. In case they hadn’t noticed, Crackle Barrel menus don’t feature their logo as an appetizer, entree’, side dish or dessert.
