Earlier today, the Gateway Pundit reported that Bed Bath & Beyond is bailing on Gavin Newsom’s California. Now it is being reported that Kroger is closing a number of their supermarkets in Washington state due to crime.
BREAKING: Grocery stores closing in Everett, Washington due to high crime and open air drug markets.

This is what people on the left don’t seem to understand about crime. When you tolerate it, everyone suffers for it. The people in Washington who depend on these stores for the goods they need are now going to suffer hardship because their political leaders decided not to prosecute criminals.
The mayor of one of the affected towns actually had the audacity to complain about this decision.
FOX 13 in Seattle reports:
Everett, WA mayor calls out Kroger for closing more grocery stores
After Kroger announced it will close more stores in western Washington later this year, some believe the grocery corporation is putting profits over people.
“A lot of people who live in our Casino Road community commute by foot, so this has been their primary grocery store to shop for their basic needs,” said Mayor Cassie Franklin of the City of Everett.
The Ohio-based company blamed “a steady rise in theft” among their reasons for closing six Fred Meyer and QFC stores through October, but Mayor Franklin says the CEO cited “financial reasons” when they spoke on Monday.
“We have done shoplifting emphasis stings, we’ve done emphasis patrols, we have created a buffer zone around that store and crime is down in all areas, especially shoplifting,” said Mayor Franklin.
Here’s a local video report:

Fact check completed
Criminal culture getting its just deserts.
Well, to stay in business, they’ll have to put everything behind locked plexiglass cases like in California, right?
A local Ralphs recently put in an entire plexiglass section of items that are constantly stolen - laundry detergent, personal care items, baby formula, diapers and more. You have to pay for your items in that particular section which has its one door in and out that can be shut and locked.
It was either that or the entire store closes.
There was a story a while back about a Target store walling off all shelves with plexiglass. A crazy solution!
I grocery shop at Walmart due to price and most items I buy are made in America. I notice that about a quarter of the shoppers are Walmart employees filing orders. So ...
Kroger has the opportunity to do something innovative. Wall off the store behind the checkout lanes. Install kiosks and have CSR available to help the elderly and technology-impaired shoppers create their orders. Have staff ready to pick the orders and deliver to the front. Problem solved. Back to the future? No, back to the past with a kiosk twist.
I used to live in Everett. It’s turning into Detroit. I call it ‘The place where business goes to die’.
That Fred Meyer is in the worst location. Everett Police is horrible, and the DA there has set up a revolving door.
My kids still live in Everett, but they are both saving up to get out. My youngest has met his target. My middle kid is getting there.
My oldest is in Northern Idaho, otherwise known as paradise.
Believe it or not grocery chains only make a 1 to 2% profit on the billions of products they sell.
Then the bodegas will come in and there will be cries of gouging because the bodegas can’t buy by volume and shoplifting is out of control.
Another FAFO moment brought to you by the dem-o-rats.
