A Florida man repeatedly used his sprinkler system to hose down special needs children as they got on and off their school bus, police have said.
Antonio Roman, 61, was arrested by deputies with Marion County Sheriff's Office after repeatedly using the sprinkler system on the family next door to him in Ocala.
Officials say he intentionally activated the sprinklers twice daily, when his two victims departed for school and again when they returned.
Deputies said the father of the children had to resort to wearing a swim suit to shield his children, who use wheelchairs, from the repeat behavior.
Footage obtained by WFTV shows the sprinklers activating as two of the children are being wheeled out to the bus.
One of the sprinklers appears to rotate round to soak the child and their father as they are pushed onto the bus.
Police say the neighbors had advised them that such behavior had been ongoing since August 8 of last year.
A detective sat and watched the property and found he was using a surveillance system to activate the sprinklers which were aimed directly at the bus.

Looked like a concrete driveway. I could understand being unhappy IF lift/ramp was being set down on edge and damaging it. However his issues are with transportation, not the students. I don’t know parents or kids can help where bus stops?
“A Florida man”...
It is likely it doesn't matter. I suspect the school bus loading zone is on an easement. If he poured concrete in that zone, TS. At worst this guy was going to be annoyed twice a day during school hours. Lots of people live on busy highways and don't intentionally water down pedestrians and autos passing by..
I was referring to roadway right-of-way vs. vehicular right-of-way.
I googled your question as is and that is what came up
This guy is a male “Karen”. Even if the stop was right smack dab IN his driveway, loading those children would take 20 minutes a day, max. I wonder if he votes in both Florida and New York?

All I know is what the article tells us. The lift/ramp is setting down on his driveway. So why is this happening? Yes the board can move the stop, so why don’t they? This guy sounds like he’s a couple fries short of a Happy Meal and I honestly feel the board should have moved the stop just to keep the peace. Is it fair to the disabled kids? No but life is seldom fair. This story could have ended much worse and sometimes it’s best to just keep the peace.
Why do you think I called him a “Cranky old man” yet he’s only 61? People like that are best avoided that is why I say move the damn bus stop. Keep the kids away from him. New York mentality? You can’t deal with crazy just stay away from it.
they should move the bus stop to where the kiddies live.
::What would he do if someone stopped to talk on a public sidewalk in front of his house?:
~~~
Sounds like he would do the same. Such a mean-spirited wretch.
Boo hoo, I work in hospitals. I know cranky.
There is no damn excuse for his behavior or your sympathy with it.
You’re the type of person that lets bullying happen just to keep the peace.
May you have the day you deserve.
Thanks. Notice in the videos, there is no sidewalk. All the bus activity and the bus lift take place on the city street.
Look at the videos again, it doesn't. The bus is stationed on the street and the lift in the rear, is no where close to the idiot's driveway.
And if one such as you were to accept his argument, that bus would have no where to pick up any one since there is no sidewalk in that enclave.......
OK. I stand corrected. So it’s hard to tell from the video, but is the guy deliberately spraying onto the neighbor’s driveway? Is it going off his property?
You now moving the goal posts?
What does the police report and the neighbors say?
No! I’m just asking a question.
It sounds like he’s been going off property with both this guy and others he has soaked/assaulted. But the video was not clear about whose house was whose and who the guy in the video was. I could see the wheelchair under the bus but the lost sight of it as the view was blocked by the bus. And the video was grainy at best.
There is no defense of what he did and I am not looking for a reason to excuse him.
public street and public sidewalk includes driveway interance off street, what this AHOLE did is wrong on sp many levels, and for you to agree that he did this just shows what kind of person you really are.
