Diplomats from the US allegedly asked their European colleagues to be ready to organize the meeting, although the exact location is currently unclear.

According to the report, Trump and Zelensky favor holding the event in Rome, while Putin prefers Geneva. Other cities, including Budapest and Helsinki, are also allegedly under consideration. Previous reports suggested the summit could take place on Friday, August 22.

Putin would be arrested for war crimes if he sets foot in most European countries.

“Who is worse? The person that gives a gun to someone one knowing they will use it to kill, or the person that uses that gun to kill with it.”

Over the last 14 months, what we have witnessed is bone chilling: the bombing of a maternity hospital, corpses littering the streets of Bucha, hands tied behind their backs, bullets in their head, some of them decapitated; mothers raped in front of their children, young girls in front of their families, the bodies of innocent Ukrainians half buried in mass graves, countless torture chambers throughout Russian-occupied territory, mobile crematoriums used to dispose the evidence of their indiscriminate killings, the bombardment of apartments and public buildings providing refuge to children and the elderly, including a theater in Mariupol that had the words children written outside so large in Russian you could see it from the satellites.

“...while Putin prefers Geneva.”

Who vowed to arrest Pooty-Poot if he set foot into Europe? The Germans? French?

There are no innocent parties here and it’s a waste of time for the US to delve into that rabbit hole in the pursuit of a peace deal. Understanding the causes of the conflict is of importance only to recognize when one of the parties is trying to persuade and divert attention with their historical version as a means of gaining leverage in negotiations and world opinion.
The bottom line is that it’s in the best interests for the US that Russia, a nuclear power and longtime adversary is held in check.
A weaker Russia, militarily, economically, demographically is better for the US and the world. Fewer Russians means more peace. If they want to kill themselves via vodka or as cannon fodder, that’s a net positive in the long run.
Ukraine poses absolutely no threat to US and the world.
