"MayflowerMadam" must be a retired comp and rhetoric teacher...who is also an uptight narcissist that cant stand precisely correct grammar.

I’m not a teacher, retired or otherwise, and I also know that it’s precisely correct to use an apostrophe in a contraction.

By saying “Me and my spouse” did such-and-such, (e.g., went to the store) you’re saying “Me went to the store”.

(I’m sorry that your elementary school didn’t teach grammar.)
