Need to start charging an annual fee for every h1b visa a company gets, maybe about 50k a year should be enough
Market rate is one side of the problem. The other is that you cannot apply to another company for a job — the initial one who holds your H1B permit/visa will deport you immediately. So, you are locked in no matter what, you are a slave.
Hopefully this sends some of the H-1B’s BTI.
The whole program should just be ended. Should have been ended by now. Too bad the tech bros are all over the Trump admin.
Pretty sure it doesn't work that way. The company can just say you "aren't qualified" or "aren't a good fit". They can then proceed to hire an H1-B who isn't qualified, either -- but nobody checks up on that.
