Donald Trump has said Vladimir Putin is “not going to mess around with me” on the eve of his critical meeting with the Russian leader in Alaska.
The two leaders are set to meet in person at a US military base on Friday for talks aimed at negotiating a potential ceasefire in Ukraine. The leaders are scheduled to begin discussions at 11.30am local time in Anchorage (8:30pm BST).

Demilitarising and de-Nazifying Ukraine is also on the agenda, along with lifting sanctions, withdrawing lawsuits and cancelling arrest warrants, as well as returning Russian assets subjected to the so-called freeze in the West.
We will also insist on obtaining solid security guarantees for the Russian Federation in order to shield it from any threats emanating from hostile activities by NATO, the European Union and some of their member states along our western border.

It was due mainly to the accelerating Russian gains on the ground. There was also a definite change in the reporting by Western Media in the direction of accuracy as they were unable to keep the Ukrainian losses under wraps.

No, that’s a lie and some serious gaslighting. We begged, threatened, cajoled and sent an envoy to Moscow to beg for it. They didn’t come to us, *desperate* for a meeting.
We have spent a year begging for that 30 day cease-fire so we can jam in “the coalition of the willing”, start no fly zones, embed “peacekeepers” in every Uke position, pour in all the weapons we can and start the next looting phase...the rebuilding.
And of course, we want to start chest bumping China now.

I was under the impression that witkoff took a proposal to Moscow and Moscow agreed with it and the meeting was arranged, but in the context of both you guys I don’t think I know where the meeting request originated.
