Massie also has an ally in Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., a fellow self-described libertarian who describes Massie as a good friend.
“I’m a big supporter of his, and vice versa. I’m planning a 10-city tour with him in September to support him, and we will do what it takes. We both represent sort of the liberty wing of the Republican Party,” Paul said. “We want to make sure that we don’t allow anybody to come in and try to defeat him.”
Paul is the only GOP senator who voted against Trump’s megabill because of debt concerns, but, unlike Massie, he doesn’t face re-election until 2028. Paul said he’s “very confident” Massie will beat a Trump-backed challenge.
“He’s the most fiscally conservative member of the House. He’s the most pro-gun member of the House, most pro-Bill of Rights person in the House,” Paul said. “Good sense of humor, travels the district and is somebody who pays attention to his constituents. I think he’ll do well.”

Massie represents the Hood Ornament Wing of the Republican Party.
He has accomplished nothing.
He rows his dingy in circles of purity.
Someone else could put that seat to good use.
To defend conservatism against the onslaught of attacks from those whose goal is to topple western society, we have to be willing to share the foxhole with those who we may not agree with on every issue.
Massie is fundamentally correct on many key issues. I welcome him to our side..

Yep. Just saw Schumer say this about Trump’s move to send the NG to DC — “This is, again, just a distraction. He’s afraid of Epstein. He’s afraid of all that, and we are not going to give up on Epstein.”
This has become the Dems’ universal go-to talking point — no matter what Trump says or does, no matter what the issue, it’s all about him attempting to bury the Epstein story, presumably because he has something to hide. Sad part is, the Left was encouraged into adopting this tactic due to the obsession of all things Epstein by many on the right who got infuriated with Trump about it a few weeks ago. Now Dems are using it daily not only to call into question Trump’s motives on every policy move, but to divide his base.
And of course Massie and his ilk are playing right into the Dems’ hands, as usual.

Would you call that a contradiction?
No. You'd say that liberty requires that Trump be elected. You'd say that about whatever politician you like running against one that you don't.

You would likely assume the same of anyone who opposes Trump (or anyone else you support).
We all have our favorites, and assume the worst of their opponents.
