Ousted FDA regulator targeted by Laura Loomer gets job back

Vinay Prasad, the FDA’s top vaccine and gene therapy regulator, was the target of a right-wing pressure campaign over his handling of drug approvals and past support for Democrats.

A top Food and Drug Administration official is getting his job back, a spokesman for health agencies said Saturday, less than two weeks after he was ousted at the direction of the White House.

Vinay Prasad will return as the top regulator overseeing vaccines and complex treatments for difficult diseases, a position he lost following a right-wing pressure campaign.

“At the FDA’s request, Dr. Vinay Prasad is resuming leadership of the Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research,” said Department of Health and Human Services spokesperson Andrew Nixon in a statement. “Neither the White House nor HHS will allow the fake news media to distract from the critical work the FDA is carrying out under the Trump administration.”

Prasad was among the scientists who joined the Trump administration as senior health officials after rising to prominence for criticizing the public health response to the coronavirus pandemic.

In July, the physician had come under fire from some Republicans and conservative activists, including far-right activist Laura Loomer, over his approach to drug approvals, as well as his previous support for Democratic politicians.

The White House directed his July 29 ouster, three people familiar with the situation previously told The Washington Post. They spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss a personnel matter.

Loomer, who previously told The Post that Prasad came on her radar because of an HHS tipster, described his return as an “egregious personnel decision."

Rooting out people with a history of TDS or treachery toward Trump conservatives. People buried in the bureaucracy of agencies where they are embedded. Husbands and wives whose radical lib spouses fly under the radar by having different last names. People who leak maliciously to the MEdia ….People connected to anti-Trump organizations. Run them, even. On govt money or dirty money. People with spouses that are lawyers who persecuted J6 defendants. People connected to foreign money and influence to work against Amerivan conservatism.

People that should never be close to Trump or his agenda….if they were being investigated before being hired or retained. People that contributed to sabotaging Trumps first term. People trying to destroy Trumps other loyalists like Hegseth.

You know. People who should have been vetted. Once they get loomered ( exposed) then they get investigated. And in some cases fired and replaced.
