You never know what's swimming in the waters around North Texas. At Eagle Mountain Lake in Tarrant County, it was an alligator!

The alligator was safely removed from the lake Thursday morning.

"We were trying to get it into the cage last night," said Mike Mancy, who saw the alligator near his dock on Thursday. "He (the alligator) got in it (the cage) this morning on his own."

Well could make some nice boots and women's purses.

Had alligator tail, tasted like tough chicken.

Flame away.

I wonder if someone had it as a pet and released it?

They should ship him to Louisiana and use him for bait to catch a big alligator.

Let’s send the gator to Alligator Alcatraz, they could always use the extra guards.

It is hard to believe it came from the south and crossed the Lake Worth and Eagle Mountain Lake dams.

They do migrate. They are all over NE TX. Very shy usually. Have seen them here at Cedar Creek and our other place in LA.

We’ve had gators in Lake Worth for as long as I can remember since I was a boy. It was always a charge to see the alligator warning signs on the land bridge to Greer Island Nature Center.

Who needs the Lake Worth monster when we have alligators like this to scare us?

He would only serve as a snack to a Florida gator.

I remember when Lake Worth froze and people drove cars on it.

I wonder if someone had it as a pet and released it?

I saw a movie from the late 70's or early 80's about a baby gator which was flushed down the toilet in NYC, and thrived in the NYC sewer system, and then went on to terrorize NYC.

I remember a few years back there was a gator spotted in a marsh/creek behind the football field at S.Oak Cliff(?).

They moved practice to another campus until TPW removed the animal.

There is a gator preserve near Parson’s Slough in SE Dallas County. Just South of 175 and 635.

I have also seen them in the Sabine near Lindale.

Belts, backpacks, luggage. I can see all sorts of uses!

I love the Gators, but I’m no fan of alligators. They don’t belong on an endangered list anymore.
