Michelle Obama has been married to former President Barack Obama for more than 30 years, but she wasn’t so sure about him at first. On a recent episode of her IMO podcast, which she cohosts with her brother Craig Robinson, Michelle explained how she met her husband. She also revealed that she thought he was “kind of weird.” (snip)
“I was on the Harvard recruiting team,” she said. “So I knew of him, this Barack Obama.” But while others around her seemed super impressed by Barack, Michelle remained skeptical.
“Everybody was abuzz about him, right?” she continued. “All the partners and the Harvard recruiting team were talking about this hotshot first-year Harvard law student, who was brilliant.” But when Michelle “got his profile,” she judged him.
“I thought, ‘What kind of name is Barack Obama?'” Michelle revealed. “I was like he’s Black and everybody at the firm was excited that he was Black, and I was like, he’s probably kind of weird because he’s a nerd. If a lot of white people are all infatuated with him, I was a little skeptical.”
Learning that he grew up in Hawaii didn’t help. “I read his bio and I saw that he grew up in Hawaii, and I thought, ‘Well, how many Black people grow up in Hawaii?’ So I already had this image,” she added. But Barack was assigned to be her advisee, which meant she had to reach out to him.
When she called him, her opinion started to change. “I had an image of this kind of nerdy guy, and then, the first kind of sparky feeling I felt actually was when I talked to him on the phone,” she admitted. “He had his Barack Obama voice.”
She added that Barack’s “voice was sexier than the image I had.” They had a “great conversation” on the phone, she said, so she “wasn’t feeling anything” at that point because the photo she had of him “wasn’t a great picture.”
On his first day at work, Barack was late, making Michelle think “he’s a trifling nerd with a good voice.”

Wow.
He didn’t have a problem with “her” BBC.
Big Mike and the fake kids...some entertainment for the evening.
I forget who it was, but someone suggested that Moochelle is the likely Dem candidate for POTUS, and she'll pretend to be uninterested but gives in to (faked) pleas to run.
I dismissed the notion at the time, however now it seems to be the most likely case.
And, since Dems are always deceitful, the notion of simply running would be out of the question.
Don't know, but it's my best guess at the moment.
She is so trashy.
Maybe that’s why she keeps on buzzing in our ears, like a Mosquito or a Moth that won’t finally go away.
I guess podcasts don’t really need to be popular to stay on the air. This is more a Vanity Project than anything else.
Michelle tends to run out of Sounding Boards to complain to when she talks to individual people.
I stopped reading after Michelle O.....
Gag me.
🤮
(”If a lot of white people are all infatuated with him, I was a little skeptical.”)
Those darn Honkies!!
She let it slip, didn’t she?
Thank you Big Mooch, for putting it on record
Where’s the barf alert?
(If a lot of White people are all infatuated with him, I was a little skeptical.”)
To the editors: it’s actually OK to capitalize “White” since it’s being done everywhere else
Or are you discriminating based upon skin color?
How can we miss her if she won’t go away?
Oh, is that still on?
Michelle and her brother, Craig Robinson, are Jethro and Jethrine Bodine... Michelle might have been happier marrying Jasper “Jazzbo” Depew, instead of Osama Obama.
You forgot the Barf Alert.
I don’t even want to think about those two doing anything.
I think I threw up in my mouth a little bit
TMI to the infinite power. 🙄
I have to agree with her.
Knowing the sort of leftist urban "white people" who would get infatuated with Obama, I would be very skeptical also.
