John Brennan’s ‘Intelligence Bombshell’ That Likely Never Was
The American Spectator ^ | August 5, 2025, 9:04 PM | Jack Cashil

Curiously, Brennan left no way for future investigators to confirm or deny its existence.

In June 2017, well on their way to a Pulitzer for national reporting, the stenographers at the Washington Post published a lengthy, breathless article about an extraordinary message delivered to the White House in early August 2016.

According to the Post, CIA Director John Brennan had sent an “intelligence bombshell” directly to President Barack Obama, an “eyes only” report. So sensitive was the report that Brennan kept it out of the President’s Daily Brief and insisted it “be returned immediately after it was read.”

The report was allegedly “drawn from sourcing deep inside the Russian government.” It detailed not only Vladimir Putin’s “direct involvement in a cyber campaign to disrupt and discredit the U.S. presidential race,” but also “Putin’s specific instructions on the operation’s audacious objectives — defeat or at least damage the Democratic nominee, Hillary Clinton, and help elect her opponent, Donald Trump.”

In early August 2016, the Post reported, “the outlines of the Russian assault on the U.S. election were increasingly apparent.” Except that they weren’t. This was the rare bombshell that had no fallout. As documented by Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard on July 18, 2025, the outlines of the “assault” were not apparent to the members of the intelligence community and would not be even when coerced to sign on months later.

On Aug. 31, 2016, a DHS official told former DNI James Clapper that there was “no indication of a Russian threat to directly manipulate the actual vote count.” On Sept. 2, 2016, the FBI asked that an upcoming intelligence community assessment be “softened,” given that it was “uncomfortable” implying that there was “definitive information that Russia does intend to disrupt our elections.”

On Sept. 9, 2016, an Office of the...

A circular set up. Obama asked for this kind of IQ Brennan provides it then the admin leaks out the fact that he received it and that becomes the basis for the whole fraud.

Brennan is a World Wide Caliphate cut out.

As CIA Chief of Station in Riyadh, Brennan converted to Islam.

Brennan is a Muslim)

He constructed justifications, more than once, to support the treasonous activity of fake president Barrack Hussein Obama.Obama's goal is to destroy America from within, and he is still working on it.

Get real. Obama was a crucial member of Rev. Ralph Wright's congregation in Chicago for over 20 years. These Racial Black Nationalists ( Black Fascists)succeeded in putting one of their kind into the White House.

Brennan is one of their running dogs, The whole conspiracy is still ongoing.

Indict them, try them and put them on jail. Raid their homes at 4 am with fully armed FBI swat teams. These are bad, bad people.Brennan is foremost.

Obama, Clapper, Brennan, et al, are beyond guilty in this, but let’s not forget the willing media. Not ONE journalist/reporter for a major mainstream network (except FOX News) did any serious research into the validity of the claims. They WANTED it to be true.

They WANTED it to be true.

AI Summary:

Willing suspension of disbelief.

"Willing suspension of disbelief" refers to the audience's choice to temporarily set aside doubts and accept the unreal or impossible elements presented in a story, whether in literature, theater, film, or other narratives. This allows for a deeper engagement and enjoyment of the fictional world, even when it contains elements that contradict real-world logic or plausibility.

Was the conversation what he said it was, or is the admission he spoke with Bortnikov just a way to get ahead of any future investigation of the the conversation, which may have been about something else?

Feb 2015 : (3-day WHITE HOUSE “COUNTERING VIOLENT EXTREMISM” CONFERENCE INCLUDES RUSSIAN FSB OFFICIAL - BUT NOT THE FBI’S JAMES COMEY) The White House did not invite the most senior American official charged with preventing terrorist attacks — the F.B.I. director, James B. Comey — to the three-day conference this week on countering violent extremism in the United States and abroad because the administration did not want the event too focused on law enforcement issues, according to senior American officials.
But Mr. Comey’s Russian counterpart — Aleksandr V. Bortnikov, the director of the Russian Federal Security Service, the post-Soviet K.G.B. — was at the meeting, even though international human rights groups have repeatedly accused the Russian security service of unjustly detaining and spying on Russians and others.....

“Was the conversation what he said it was, or is the admission he spoke with Bortnikov just a way to get ahead of any future investigation of the the conversation, which may have been about something else?”

They were talking about golf and their kids. . .

The article also mentions the pivotal role of Julianne Smith, who subsequently took a paid position at WestExec advisors, a revolving door lobbying firm staffed by former Obama officials, including others involved in Russiagate and related crimes.

In September 2020, the Senate Judiciary Committee shared documents declassified by Trump’s director of national intelligence, John Ratcliffe. They read in part, “According to his handwritten notes,” Brennan “briefed President Obama and other senior national security officials on the intelligence, including the ‘alleged approval by Hillary Clinton on July 26, 2016 of a proposal from one of her foreign policy advisors to vilify Donald Trump by stirring up a scandal claiming interference by Russian security services.’”

Thanks to the release of the Durham annex, we now know that the foreign policy adviser Brennan referenced was veteran globalist Julianne Smith. On July 25, 2016, Soros’ guy in the Clinton campaign, Leonard Benardo, wrote in an email, “Julie says it will be a long-term affair to demonize Putin and Trump. Now it is good for a post-convention bounce. Later the FBI will put more oil into the fire.”

From 2014 to 2018, she worked at the Center for a New American Security. She was also a fellow at the Robert Bosch Stiftung for one year. A senior advisor post at WestExec Advisors followed the consultancy’s formation in 2017.

Smith co-founded the Leadership Council for Women in National Security,[9][10] which officially launched on 25 June 2019.[11]

She worked as an advisor to a German consultancy called Berlin Global Advisors and worked at the American Academy in Berlin,[12][13] while she penned such essays in foreign policy magazines as “NATO in the Age of Trump”.[14]

A 2021 investigation in The American Prospect found that Smith, “who listed Boeing and SoftBank as clients, earned $34,000 as a WestExec consultant while holding down a full-time role at the think tank German Marshall Fund.”

WestExec Advisors LLC is a consulting firm founded in 2017 by Antony Blinken, Michèle Flournoy, Sergio Aguirre, and Nitin Chadda, all former Obama administration officials.[1][2][3] Lisa Monaco, Robert O. Work, Avril Haines, David S. Cohen, and Jen Psaki have also been WestExec employees.[4] Richard Stengel, former President Obama’s Under Secretary of State for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs is a current employee.[5]

In an interview with The Intercept, Flournoy explained WestExec seeks to employ “people recently coming out of government” with “current knowledge, expertise, contacts, networks.”[6] The firm and its partners avoid becoming registered lobbyists or foreign agents so that they can (re)enter government service without delays.[7] It does not disclose its clients, whose names are restricted from disclosure by non-disclosure agreements.[8] The firm is named after West Executive Avenue, a street near the West Wing of the White House.[8]

Clients and activities

Although WestExec does not disclose its list of clients, some have been reported. Its clients include Google’s Jigsaw; Windward, an Israeli artificial intelligence firm; Shield AI, a drone surveillance company;[4] and Fortune 100 types.[9]

Under a financial disclosure filed by the Biden transition team in December 2020, Secretary of State nominee Antony Blinken declared that clients of WestExec included Blackstone, Bank of America, Facebook, Uber, McKinsey & Company, SoftBank, Gilead, Lazard, Boeing, AT&T, Royal Bank of Canada, LinkedIn, and Sotheby’s. In a similar form, Director of National Intelligence-designate Avril Haines disclosed that WestExec had worked with Palantir Technologies.[10]
