The Kremlin said on Monday that everyone should be careful about nuclear rhetoric, in its first response to a statement by U.S. President Donald Trump that he had ordered a repositioning of U.S. nuclear submarines.

Peskov declined to answer directly when asked whether the Kremlin had tried to warn Medvedev to tone down his online altercation with Trump.
"Listen, in every country, members of the leadership... have different points of view on events that are taking place, different attitudes. There are people who are very, very tough-minded in the United States of America and in European countries, so this is always the case," he said.
"But the main thing, of course, is the position of President (Vladimir) Putin," he said. "You know that in our country, foreign policy is formulated by the head of state, that is, President Putin."

That's like Hamas beheading and raping Jews and then urging Israel not to resort to violence.
Half of the Ruskies nukes would blow up on lift off. They are the ones who better be carsful with the rhetoric.
Exactly.
The faster we walk away from Biden’s war trap the better.
“Words are very important, and can often lead to unintended consequences,”
Well, if this happens what will Medvedev have to talk about?
I think it’s pronounced like
Myed-vye-dyev - hard to say.
I said this would happen on another thread and I was called stupid for saying it. “Trump bad, he’s trying to start a nuclear war!” Russia has always been a bully until they are called out on it. Then they whine like cowards that they are being threatened.
Same goes with any dictator. They threaten and then hide. Trump won’t let them hide.
Putin needs to curtail Medvedev’s vodka allowance. 8 of Dmitri’s last 10 social media posts have been nuclear threats.
… “ . “You know that in our country, foreign policy is formulated by the head of state, “ …
And in America foreign policy decisions arebeing taken away from the three letter departments and being brought back to the President, where the power belongs.
“Medvedev threatens nuclear war...”
Reminding (or very possibly informing) Trump, of the long-standing Russian response to a FIRST STRIKE, which is what Medvedev did, is not threatening nuclear war.
People need to calm down and stop being manipulated by the Media and the Neocons.
Medvedev wasn’t calmly explaining Russia’s first-strike policy—he invoked Dead Hand, a doomsday system designed to auto-launch nukes if Russian leadership is wiped out. That’s not a casual reminder; it’s nuclear saber-rattling in response to tariff threats, not missiles. That escalation wasn’t about informing—it was about intimidating.
As for the media and neocons: fair point that they hype things. But dismissing every warning as manipulation is its own kind of blindness. Sometimes, a threat is just a threat.
And BTW, Trump didn’t reposition two nuclear subs because he thought Medvedev was having a polite discussion about defensive posture. He took it as a provocation—and rightly so.
Yep, and to a lesser extent, The Dems using Congressional reapportionment to their advantage in Blue states like NY and Illinois and then saying we should stop it when Texas is doing it.

Thank you for agreeing that Medvedev was talking about a RESPONSE to a first strike. I was not aware of Dead Hand and there’s a good chance that either Trump wasn’t aware, or he was told that it was fictitious, given the Neocons that surround him. And given the Neocon OBSESSION over Russia, launching a First Strike at Russia is definitely in the mix.
So now Trump knows that Russia has a standing RESPONSE to a First Strike, and that it’s real. So, given that, it’s important to note how much things have calmed down.
“And BTW, Trump didn’t reposition two nuclear subs because he thought Medvedev was having a polite discussion about defensive posture. He took it as a provocation—and rightly so.”
Again, Trump is surrounded by Neocons, so his response reflects that. As to moving subs in the ocean, that dates back well over 100 years, and Russia knows it.
Who are the neocons advising Trump?
“Who are the neocons advising Trump?”
Virtually everyone around him in his first term. Now he has Rubio, Kellogg, and Lindsey Graham, for starters. And Trump has been parroting them, ESPECIALLY GRAHAM.
Sounds like a defensive weapon. Something the war mongers should pay attention to.
