There is a 3 minute clip at link
I can't believe you would post such crap.
China is where it is economically because it stole its technology from the U.S. and then sold it back to us in products it produced using that technology.
I stop reading when I see the author’s first name is Professor which tells me the author has no real world experience and therefore I will be reading whatever is in his head. I can do that with my 5 year old’s scribblings
When was there ever an “American empire”?
America was adding territory through the Spanish-American War; but, with some exceptions, these territories were subsequently admitted as states when they were ready for statewide or, in the cases of Cuba and the Philippines, granted independence when they were ready for independence. (Puerto Rico remains a territory, but it is in such fiscal difficulty that it can’t or shouldn’t be admitted as a state.)
In the Marxist view, military alliances, trade, investment and other economic relations, and tourism and cultural exchanges constitute “an empire.” Accordingly, Australia is a “colony” of the United States. Or, is it the other way around? Did we become a colony of Australia upon the popularity of Crocodile Dundee movies and Outback restaurants?
The problem with communists is that if you ever get them to define what they mean by words such as “empire,” you find they don’t make any sense. Australia isn’t and never was part of an American empire, nor we part of an Australian empire. Rather, we both have been in free association with each other. Free association, that’s alien to the communist mind. They only believe in power and subjugation.
Now, is America losing ground to other countries in the race to be #1? Yes, mostly for two reasons: First, because the countries that were devastated by WWII, like Germany and Japan, have long-ago recovered. And, second, because many countries have adopted market-oriented economies and democratic governments and, so, have joined in the march of progress. Think of Chile in Latin America and Poland in eastern Europe.
It was easy for us to be #1 when we were the only major country that wasn’t destroyed during WWII. But, that was like a big hulking man competing against women in NCAA swimming. Even though things are more competitive today, we should want all countries to strive to be great again, or great for the first time. We should focus on MAGA and in fairness in our military alliances and in trade.
A devout marxist and known eleite propgandist spouting CHinese sumpramcy. You let’s all take that at face value.
China is trying to ascend but thier economy is worse than America’s, way more fragile and they have ghost cities to show for it.
BRICs is also trying but has not yet taken over the world market.
Your posted article amounts to lies and misinformation, as for some truth-—NO. The entire point of the article is to literally lie and create issues for America.
Right you are.
He’s a neocon.
Hey you Marxian professor , I aint done till they pry my AR-15 from my cold dead hands. That goes for 80,000,000 more of us. If anyone is done, its you Marxist bastards that just had your gravy train run off the bridge.
He’s right. Mr. Let’s Make a Deal and his team just do not get it, and CONgress is too corrupt to do what needs to be done. And then there is PE firms doing to the country what they do to companies.
In 1954 Congress passed the Communist Control act and signed by Eisenhower although it’s not enforced it needs to be and updated to include Marxism and socialism.
Speak about it all you want to cover free speech but it should ban anyone from holding political office of any type including local, state or federal that runs on those political stances and automatically removes them if they do after being in office as a threat to the Republic.
After all the abject failures of Marxism since it was concocted, it’s hard to believe there are still people dim-witted enough to still think it’s a good idea.
The takeover in large American cities by anti-American Muslims is more of a danger to our country than anything else.
Brics? BARF!
Commie Professor's all suck.
It ain’t over until the progressives (dementiacrats, democratic socialists, socialists… you know, communists) are rounded up in “reeducation camps,” put to work on collective farms, “rehabilitated” or wind up as soylent green.
Hogwash. Professor tells Al Jazeera. Kisses the mouthpiece for Islam’s totalitarian ideology.
Malaise! The Statue of Liberty ist kaput!
The era of liberal exportation of liberal culture at gunpoint world wide is certainly over.
Actually, the Trump efforts will grow businesses and stimulate trade.
Americans fear Globalism, but Americanism is in fact the global norm. American standards are de facto world standards. Some nations and especially Canada have dressed up the American standards with some words and commas but at root, the ASTM standard is intact.
When you see videos from around the world, you see American fashion and dress. In far off Tibet, at a very sacred religious ceremony raising hundreds of small cloth flags, one of the men was outfitted in a straw Stetson and cow boy boots. The world values America
As I’ve said ... Universities have morphed from institutes of higher learning into cesspools of dis/misinformation and most professors are turds floating around in those cesspools.
“However, there is some truth in what he says about China and BRICs, etc...”
Not surprising when you have a major political party DEDICATED to bringing about the above, and the other political party ok with looking the other way, as they also cashed in.
(now I’ll read all of the comments, likely denying the new reality...it’s a way to cope)
China has the worlds largest economy in keeping with the fact that it has the worlds largest population. Adding the BRICS doesn’t mean much except to make it look global and empire-ish.
The US is wealthier by far on a per captia (person) basis. Outside its cities Chinese people are poor. The average Chinese live at the lowest levels of the US welfare queens. Probably lower.
The US set all time high records for manufacturing output. We exceed China per captia. A country of 340 million does not have enough people to outproduce 1.4 billion. But per captia we are far wealthier. The US is the world’s second largest steel producer. And that steel is high value steel not basic slabs and unfinished rolls.
China is always on the verge of revolution because its people are repressed and poor.
