A top aide to President Donald Trump on Sunday accused India of effectively financing Russia's war in Ukraine by purchasing oil from Moscow, after the U.S. leader escalated pressure on New Delhi to stop buying Russian oil.
"What he (Trump) said very clearly is that it is not acceptable for India to continue financing this war by purchasing the oil from Russia," said Stephen Miller, deputy chief of staff at the White House and one of Trump's most influential aides.
Miller's criticism was some of the strongest yet by the Trump administration about one of the United States' major partners in the Indo-Pacific.
"People will be shocked to learn that India is basically tied with China in purchasing Russian oil. That's an astonishing fact," Miller said on Fox News' "Sunday Morning Futures."

I think, in the end, the Zeepers want the US ISOLATED, while the rest of the world zips by us. Otherwise they have supported being on good terms with both Russia and India.
It’s hard to otherwise understand them, now that they’re writing off the most populous country in the world (and #3 in GNP).

Hardly. Who was hollering “The heck with Europe!” when they sought our participation in Ukraine’s defense?
India is not 3rd in GDP. And it depends heavily on it’s exports to USA. And President Trump is fond of negotiating trade deals .... as appropriate.

You might want to check again on GNP, it’s China, then US, then India, at least according to Wikipedia.
If you read the Ukrainians and the Russians posting on X, you’ll see that they make no secret of their hatred for the U.S. and for President Trump.
Both sides hate us. I don’t know why our government is wasting time on them.

It is generally recognized that the GDP-PPP is a more accurate reflection of a nations economy.
Apparently, there is a list for everyone. In any case, the differences are not great between them. India is a big economy, no doubt. And no one wants to just write it off. But US is much bigger, and no one would want to write it off, either.

India and China have have fought each other for over 60 years. India’s best interest is to stay on the US’s best side.
