A volcano in eastern Russia erupted for the first time in 475 years, prompting a tsunami warning.

The Krasheninnikov volcano in Kamchatka became active days after one of the strongest earthquakes ever recorded hit the region.

Pictures released by Russian state media showed a plume of ash towering over the volcano, which last erupted in 1550...

That’s the only sure thing: the end is nearer for you and I and for the world than it was five minutes ago, whether that end will be in the next five minutes or a thousand years from now. The important thing is not to fret over the timing or details, but to always be prepared. 🙂

I went to Rotorua on a familiarization trip with a group of travel agents back in the ‘90s.
I remember there were little steam vents all over the place, even next to the road.
We stayed at the Sheraton and the hotel had a grotto on the ground floor with a hot spring pool for guests.
We had a great time soaking in it.

Nah. I’m betting on Lassen here in CA. Last went up in 1915.

I dunno about you but, i just watched a video of that thing and it looks as if it has vent’s’ that have appeared aside the main crater.

There are cracks spreading.

That sometimes indicates a caldera is trying to form.

No. Definitely Reagan’s fault. /s

I was thinking it was either the Romanov or Stalin fault, Although there are rumors of Russians claiming it is Zelenski's Fault. :)

Look at the size of that thing!

Look at the vents about the time the guy goes yoooohooo.

I wonder how high the ash cloud has reached.

I would guess, a wild guess, its about a bit bigger than St Helens and heading to a Pinatubo size.
Might end up the size of Novarupta.

Newsweek mentioned that possibility in April:

"Earthquakes could be being used as cover for secret nuclear tests, a newly-published review article by leading seismologists has cautioned.

The findings come as part of a review article by Joshua Carmichael and colleagues at Los Alamos National Laboratory, published in the latest edition of the Bulletin of the Seismological Society of America."

Must be Zelensky’s doing. All this time, he’s been a mad scientist disguised as a comedian/politician. Really, he’s Dr. Fu Manchu./s

Call me crazy, but based on the magnitude and timing of what's happening in Russia, I can't help but feel that this is some unnatural coincidence.

I don't know if this is being caused by secret underground nuclear tests, seismic weapons, or even tectonic weapons, but as the old TV commercial used to say, it's not nice to mess with Mother Nature.

OK. After i asked that, sometime yesterday i saw it stated as 28 thousand feet.

And..the dam news and social media are confusing it with other volcanic eruptions that happened recently...july 31st for example.

So, at say 28 thousand, if it doesnt go any higher, it wont get into the stratosphere. Thats good.

But, they are a little concerned because of the flank vents.

There is no known history written on the personality of this thing.
