A volcano in eastern Russia erupted for the first time in 475 years, prompting a tsunami warning.
The Krasheninnikov volcano in Kamchatka became active days after one of the strongest earthquakes ever recorded hit the region.
Pictures released by Russian state media showed a plume of ash towering over the volcano, which last erupted in 1550...

True. The quake was Jan 1700. And 105 years later, Lewis and Clark reported their surprise that no Indians of any tribes were living on the NW coast. (They were all killed by the tsunami. )
I disagree. The Cascadia Subduction Fault does go off very regularly with an 8.3 or larger earthquake.

Kamchatka has about 30 active volcanoes.
