Haven’t seen too many Sandler movies, but the ones I’ve seen were just awful.

The sequel to the beloved 1996 comedy, Happy Gilmore 2, premiered on Netflix, arriving nearly two decades after the original film hit theaters

uhmmmm.....Someone ran out of fingers and toes when they were counting.

"Happy Gilmore 2" had the biggest U.S. opening weekend in Netflix history with 46.7 million views in three days.

This is money well spent for Netflix.

He is age 58 which meaning aging out in Hollywood, especially for high paying roles. Really, this guy has never made me laugh. This movie is a smash, I guess for children and families. He is a money making machine, net worth 400 million.

I’ll bet there is zero gay, zero tattoos, zero hate America in this movie. So Adam Sandler and his crew here, are filling a need.

I have to admit I was skeptical but it’s an entertaining movie. Seeing Eminem getting eaten by allegators was pretty funny. For golf fans all the cameo’s were great.

The Bob Barker fight scene in the original was great.

I actually liked the movie. I don’t watch much tv at all but did like the original and was encouraged to watch the sequel by a couple friends that said it was good.

This partnership hints at evolving industry trends, where streaming giants compete for exclusive content by investing heavily in established stars.

But the risk is that with the "established stars" getting all the monied roles, there won't be a generation under them to grow into characters that our grandkids will want to see.

Nothing against Sandler, but my grandkids won't want to see a 40 or 50 yr old man looking and acting like a kid.

Maybe we are looking at the seeds of their destruction?

Outside the U.S., “Happy Gilmore 2” had a tremendous global impact on Netflix. In its debut weekend, the film not only set the record for the biggest U.S. opening but also soared to number one on Netflix in over 60 countries and claimed a spot in the Top 10 in 88 countries worldwide. Netflix’s own reporting through TUDUM and entertainment analysts confirm that the film amassed 46.7 million views in its first three days globally, with the vast majority of those coming from outside the U.S. market. During the same tracking period, “Happy Gilmore 2” topped the platform’s Global Movies chart and outperformed every other movie in terms of views and viewing hours, clocking 91.9 million hours watched worldwide.

Notably, countries where the film ranked number one include Canada, the UK, Australia, dozens of European nations, and much of Latin America. The only significant exceptions to its domination were Japan (where it peaked at number 10) and Indonesia. The original “Happy Gilmore” also benefited from the sequel’s success, vaulting into the global Top 10 movies on Netflix with 11.4 million views during the week of the sequel’s launch.

In summary:

46 million watched. Not a bad number. Your grandkids don’t have any real men actors. So maybe they need movies with a 58 year old.

I’m not much of a fan of his humor, but he is a heck of a good businessman. He is surprisingly successful and seems like a really decent person within the entertainment business. He is no slouch.

Guy is not a bad dude it seems to me. If he can scam Netflix a huge payday - I'm fine with it.

I like his movies but will probably skip this one as I am not interested in decades old sentimental cash-grab sequels.
