Tom Brady takes a swipe at Gisele Bundchen over their divorce in letter about providing for his family

Tom Brady has seemingly taken a swipe at his supermodel ex-wife Gisele Bundchen in his latest newsletter about providing for his family.

The NFL great, a seven-time Super Bowl winner, split from his wife of 13 years in October 2023, months after dramatically reversing his decision to retire from football.

After their split was announced, Bundchen repeatedly alluded to her unhappiness at how much Brady focused on his sporting career at the cost of his family, with his unretirement said to be the tipping point.

Now, in a newsletter Brady has recently started writing to his fans, the 47-year-old has said that he viewed his career as a central part of being a good father to his three children.

'I think part of being a great father is being a great example of doing what it takes to take care of your family,' Brady wrote. 'I chose to do it by playing football.'

He continued: 'My dedication to the sport, the hours of practice, the moments when I was laser focused - those were times when I believe I was doing the best possible thing for my family and my kids, by prioritizing my profession and teaching, by example, what it takes to be really good at your job, what it takes to follow through on commitments, what it takes to be a great teammate; and showing them, also by example, that work is a big part of all of our lives.'

Women: Why don't men work and support families like they used to?

Also women: Why does my husband work so much?

Yep.

Either way, Tom Brady was right.

Ever grown man should adopt that as his motto and post it on the fridge.

He’s correct. He worked his ass off to earn all that money and accolades.

She’s a Brazilian model who showed off designers’ clothing..............

“Ever grown man should adopt that as his motto and post it on the fridge.”

That’s what Caesar would do.

Yes, he is the greatest QB of all time.

And I agree with his statement above in general.

However, I think he is being disingenuous about his unretirement being done to provide for his family. He was worth several hundred million at the time. His family was provided for.

He did it because he loved the game and his role in it and the challenge. All great reasons.

But I see his ex’s point about wanting him to be a father and a husband. He probably made promises to her about his first retirement, and then he went back on those promises.

There’s always two sides to this stuff.

Tom Brady was typically off from February to end of July.

Plenty of time to spend with his family.

“Tom Brady’s first wife was Gisele Bündchen. They were married from 2009 to 2022. Prior to marrying Gisele, he had a son, John “Jack” Moynahan, with his ex-girlfriend Bridget Moynahan.” OK, Tom, I wonder how Bridget feels about you as a family man?

Sounds OK in my book.
Whatever the profession, few can perform at the height of excellence, year after year, in an 8 to 5 world.

“Tom Brady was typically off from February to end of July.”

And gone virtually all the time the other six months. There’s always two sides...

“There’s always two sides to this stuff.”

The “side” of the man is so often minimized by close family and friends, even to the point of being effectively denied as invalid.

The “side” of the woman by contrast is often seen, if we’re bring honest here, to be propped up with struts like a Potemkin Village, and held together for dear life by bailing wire and duct tape.

Commenting for a friend. Lol

If someone like Tom Brady cannot please his wife, what hope is there for the rest of us? Many women just cannot be satisfied.

Exactly.

He did it because he loved the game and his role in it and the challenge.

And the drug of fame, being on TV, and football groupies.

There’s more to being a good father and husband and a man than making a lot of money and being very good in the workplace.

I’m not taking her side here by any means.

I’m just acting like an impartial judge, not a defense attorney.

There’s also the matter of concussions.

Giselle bout five years ago or so let slip (seemingly by mistake) the sheer number of concussions she believed Tom had suffered. And she was clearly distraught by it.

If Giselle is to be credited for having Tom’s best interests at heart, and at the time most were giving her that credit, his return to the punishing job of an NFL quarterback when she thought he’d, for lack of a better term, come to his senses, may have been impossible for her to accept while still by his side.
