A US-bound Delta flight with at least 150 people onboard was forced to hit the brakes during takeoff in Mexico this week when another jet nearly landed on top of it.
Delta Flight 590 had just started rolling down the runway at Aeropuerto Internacional Benito Juárez in Mexico City on Monday when the regional AeroMéxico plane suddenly flew overhead and landed in front of it, Flightradar 24 data showed.
The regional jet came within less than 200 feet of the Atlanta-bound Delta flight, CNN reported.

Almost. Whether it misses by 1 ft or 1 mile it is a miss.
I had the same thing happen to me as I was touching down when a skydive operator landed over the top of me in his King Air. I reported him to the FAA then found out he gave free jumps to the FAA guys so nothing happened but a warning.
He did the same thing to another pilot not too long after and the guy went up and punched his lights out.

Aeromexico was obviously cleared to land. The real question is was Delta cleared to the active runway and cleared for takeoff?
In the end we will probably find that The Tower screwed up.

Sounds like the Mexican pilot didn’t bother to look out the window during landing.
Somehow we all know that MSM will find a way to say “Trump’s fault”.
That controller at LAX in 1991 ago gave a Skywest flight clearance to land and ended up on top of a US Air flight.
Got to keep your eyes outside the cockpit.
