“Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever a man sows, that will he also reap.”
Galatians 6:7
Ozzy taken in The Ark...
Amazing!
He clearly lead a life filled with sin. As does every person here.
Peter denied Jesus 3x.
Are you saying repentance is futile?
What’s the point of quoting this verse out of context?
I love Bible discussions on here!
Too often they turn into verbal sectarian slug fests...
"Heavy Metal icon"
Also, there's the charity report of $190 mil. Charity.
Those in the Jewish world would recognize "190" -- it's the "end", ketz [קץ].
Meaning
end, finish, stop; death
Ozzy Osbourne’s final concert earlier this month raised around $190 million for several charities, according to multiple news outlets.>>>
The charity concert was the highest-grossing of all time, according to Billboard.
Ozzy Osbourne's legendary final performance raised a staggering $190M for worthy causes
Paranoid, Iron Man... a true Rockstar. I was home building a SG from zebrawood, putting in humbuckers, when my neice called me. I had just learned those two songs in June. Ozzy was a fretboard demon.
The cherry-picked Bible passage is, of course, a fair and legitimate passage.
And yes, nowadays many churches preach love and not justice.
But as it’s written elsewhere, if I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.
My point was that Ozzy lead a life of hedonism. No doubt. But he also had moments of clarity and sobriety. And from what I read and saw, he wasn’t like some people who are unrepentant.
I have no idea what was the state of Ozzy’s soul when he died. And yes, he was a sinner.
But so am I. And everyone else here.
Further, unlike many people who WERE unrepentant, I believe Ozzy has a chance. I mean, he went to the Ark Museum and - if you watch the episode _ he was very respectful (though I believe he uncorked an f-bomb or two while there talking to Jack).
Often, on FR and elsewhere, “evangelists” are looking to score points and display their smarts, and not bring people to God. Others want to preach love and forgiveness, without the vital dimension of justice. And visa versa. Meanwhile, souls are lost.
I hope Ozzy made it. Because if he did, then wretches like me have a shot.
RIP Ozzy
‘Sectarian Slugs’ .. I like it. Very descriptive.
Deserves a story line somewhere...
Yup
I’ve seen Ozzy live a few times.. maybe more..
He was a good guy
RIP Ozzy and thanks for the hundreds of memories...
Understood
Sorry; it should be written ‘slugfest’.
Unlike you, there are people here who often sound like gongs and cymbals; and they seem to take great pleasure in their 0wn ‘sounds’.
So do I.
The only judgment I’ll make about Osbourne is not about his soul but that he had a tremendous influence on young people. His hedonistic, satan loving persona severely and adversely affected many of those young people. His influence was real. Much real suffering and grief came to them and their families. My conclusion is that he was not a good man.
But Sectarian Slugs is very evocative! :)
It’s the start of a great title of something :)
Well said and amen.
