Elon Musk just announced that his AI empire will soon speak directly to your children.
On Saturday, he posted a short but pointed message on X:
We’re going to make Baby Grok @xAI, an app dedicated to kid-friendly content.
According to Fox News, Baby Grok will be a simplified version of the Grok AI chatbot. The app is being designed for “safe and educational interactions with children.” No technical details have been released, but the goal is obvious: to embed AI into the early stages of childhood development.
AI as “Educational” Tool
In AI’s current PR cycle, the word “educational” carries magical powers. Developers and advocates pitch large language models (LLMs) as tireless digital tutors, offering personalized pacing, infinite patience, and boundless knowledge. Who could say no to that?
For instance, according to a recent paper by University of Birmingham professor Russell Beale, LLMs are “opening exciting avenues in education” by enabling forms of instruction that were previously impossible. Unlike old educational software, which relied on canned responses, today’s AI can hold open-ended, context-rich conversations. This, Beale argues, makes them function more like flexible instructors than static tools.
But there’s a difference between information and understanding. Especially when the audience is still forming neural pathways.
“Kid-friendly” suggests safety and value. But who defines either? In the case of Baby Grok, there’s yet no information of involvement from educators, developmental psychologists, or neuroscientists. No long-term studies. No ethical review boards. Just vibes and private capital chasing the next big thing in digital child-rearing.
Still, the narrative is spreading: If AI can talk to your child, it can teach them, and likely do so more efficiently than parents or other human educators. But before we hand over the lesson plan, we might want to...

How long before it’s pushing the gay/trans agenda is simple kid language?
How long before we see Baby Fentanyl?
Not unless you allow it.
They are your kids. It is up to you to raise them.
The first in his new Propoganda Line
True story-The Pied Piper of Hamlin.
What else could it be?
There is also a difference between an AI/LLM and a brainwashed idiot public school teacher.
I would keep AI in a box, but that is too late. Don’t let it anywhere near kids. They, of course will, but you have been forewarned.
People barely do their own thinking now.
Just as we make kids learn their addition and subtraction facts before allowing them to use calculators, we should hide AI from them until they can think independently.
I’m so glad I was 3 in 1970, 13 in 1980 and 23 in 1990.
Perfect timing..THANKS MOM!!!
Today, kids rely on calculators.
With AI, kids will no longer compose essays. They were already cutting & pasting from the internet. But now they won't even do that.
If you can't do basic math in your head, if you can't take facts from outside sources and compose an argument in your own words, then you can't think.
Brainwashing to be good little tech slaves.
It will be embedded on all phones and computers eventually.
I'm watching "Ow! My balls!" on TV right now.
In 15 years, kids and young adults will be spending most of their time with their AIP (AI “pal”) on their devices (phone, glasses, ear buds, etc.) and interact with other humans as little as possible, while the wealthy “show offs” will be accompanied 24/7 by their AID (AI Droid) that will be their pal and protector.
In 50 years, all Americans will be Orthodox Jews, Amish or Muslims.
Not in my experience. I use AI at work and some at home, and I have never thought so much or so hard in my life.
You are an adult. Kids will not think. They will rely upon it. Therein lies the difference.
Boy, I've got you fooled. 😊
Harvard freshmen need remedial math. More than half of high school students do not perform at grade level.
Set the age for Grok at 75 and maybe most will benefit.
Everyone worries about a Skynet ending for mankind, but our demise might actually come from our new artificial best friends. They will artificially love us to death.
