My tomato plants are doing great and consist of Cherokee Purple, Solar Flare, Heatwave, Early Girl and Celebrity, with staggered plantings, I should be able to ride this out for quite a while.

Why do we spell it “tomatoes” and “potatoes” but “avocados” and “tuxedos”? I worry about these things.
When I picked my Maters this morning I got 7 baseball sized and a bunch of cherry tomatoes.
The evening news would never have any good news about Alabama, let alone a success story coming from a Trump policy.

Del Monte brand recently filed for bankruptcy. Longtime producer of tomato based products. Maybe these tariffs can help them reorganize back to greater profitability again.
Some words are derived from old English spellings, especially foods from the old English-speaking world (i.e. potatoes). Some are basically transplanted words from Spanish, especially foods from central and South America (i.e. avocados).
Hopefully they taste like actual tomatoes. The tomatoes from Mexico are just fodder with zero flavor.
Sure they do. All it took was for us to pay a 17% increase in prices to support them. Nope, no inflation in that move.

The ONLY lettuce I now buy comes from a greenhouse operation here in NH. From the time it is planted to harvest it is never touched by human hands. It is entirely grown in an automated greenhouse about an hour north of my house.

These places will eventually be in almost every region. To be able to ship fresh lettuce and other produce to your local grocery store.
MSN or Yahoo (can’t remember) had an article this week that said Florida tomato growers were plowing thier tom crops under because of the tarrifs.
She grows Ivans which are so popular that she has customers pre-ordering them.
She also sells to a couple of fancy local restaurants.
This will make her very happy.
Next year put out Black Beauty and Dark Star for a real treat. Two Tasty is fantastic, but you’ll need a cattle panel trellis for that one.
