Delta Airlines Boeing 767 Makes Emergency Landing After Engine Catches Fire
The aircraft had just taken off on Friday when one of its engines caught fire.
The flight, headed to Atlanta, turned back to LAX within minutes of takeoff.

Rolls Royce or General Electric engines?
Another fuel line leak.

Maybe replaced an engine component and forgot to do a leak check.
Nothing to see, here (except flames on a jet engine) ... move along.
Glad they were able to land, safely. 🙏🏻

Been watching the series The Outsider by Stephen King.
Brilliant woman said she is aviophobic.
The author is, too. Edited the collection Fright or Flight of stories about the topic, with one by himself.

Longer maintenance schedules
Unreliable/non OEM parts
Maintenance folks not up to snuff for one or more reasons
Not enough maintenance folks
If you look at the ground crews at major airports you would think you landed in Mogadishu. It is frightening..
ICE made them return?
It depends on the model. They use Rolls Royce, GE and Pratt and Whitney.
I had a friend in Florida who worked part time for the FBI trying to track down counterfeit aircraft parts. I think they usually get the shapes perfect, but the materials are not up to par.
That would have absolutely nothing to do with an engine fire—except they would turn the fuel control OFF on the engine once if was on fire.
……once it was on fire.
Would someone please explain how this is Trump’s fault?
Did Delta hire some Muslims in the aircraft maintenance department?
Another reason my wife and I haven’t flown since 9/11: no more 4-engine planes...
Also, we were in Las Vegas on 9/11 and, eventually, we rented a car and drove halfway across the country, with one of our sons driving there from Maryland to pick us up...
