Ukraine invites foreign companies to test weapons on front line against Russia

Ukraine will let foreign arms companies test out their latest weapons on the front line of its war against Russia's invasion, Kyiv's state-backed arms investment and procurement group Brave1 said on Thursday.

-snip-

"We have a list of priorities. One of the top of those would be air defense, like new air defense capabilities, drone interceptors, AI-guided systems, all the solutions against gliding bombs," he said.

Unmanned systems in the water and electronic profile systems on the ground are also on Ukraine's list of priorities, as are advanced fire control systems or AI guidance to make howitzers more accurate.

Under the "Test in Ukraine" scheme, companies would send their products to Ukraine, give some online training on how to use them, then wait for Ukrainian forces to try them out and send back reports, the group said in a statement.

"It gives us understanding of what technologies are available. It gives companies understanding of what is really working on the front line," Artem Moroz, Brave1's head of investor relations, told Reuters at a defense conference in Wiesbaden, Germany.

Another thread of strange reactions to what is a very good idea

Yes, especially when Russia keeps threatening the West.

Or Ukraine wouldve already taken mercy on its people and yelled uncle.

Right, because that's how Russians have historically dealt with subjugated people, with mercy and not gulags and executions.

Author describes the "mercy", russians dealt out to the Chechens.

Russians are giving no mercy to Ukraine. Thats the point.Ukraine is fighting a war they cannot win. The illusion is Ukraine is a few weapons away from turning it around. They are never going to recapture E Ukraine. But despite the reality…. The onslaught continues because Zelensky thinks he can provoke a larger international reaction and more financial backing by allowing his nation to be bombarded and absorbed instead cutting his losses and seriously negotiating peace.

A stalemate IS a victory for Ukraine. It means the 80%, or whatever, remains free.

As to Russian "mercy", captured Ukraine soldiers have been beaten, tortured, raped, executed, ears chopped off, heads chopped off, etc. There is a video of a surrendered Ukraine soldier castrated alive before execution.

So thinking Ukraines civilians would receive some sort of "mercy" from Putin is naive.

These are pictures of Ukraines soldiers after release from Russian captivity.

That’s a shame. That looks like Chapman Avenue in East Cleveland. The Russians didn’t do it though, we wrecked it ourselves. Slowly, one building at a time.

There was nothing about payment in the introductory explanation of this program. Perhaps it was in the link??

If this thread sounds strange or disjointed, it is because there are so many Russia/Putin supporters disagreeing with pro Ukraine commenters which is what happens on most threads where Ukraine is the topic. If you put “Ukraine” in the search bar and go back to earlier threads you will see rather consistent support of one side or the other.

If you are new to this topic it is good to be clear on which side each commenter supports. From what I have seen the pro Putin crowd more often tells lies to support their propaganda. Sometimes I can get a clearer picture of truth by going to Google or other search sites. On the other hand, Covid 19 and vaccines are not necessarily well treated on Google.

The Kremlin is no longer a government in any democratic or civil sense — it’s run by deep-state post-Soviet gangsters who operate with the same brutal logic as ISIS, Al Qaeda, and other hardcore Islamic regimes. It’s no surprise that Russia has aligned itself with the Islamic Republic of Iran — another regime that rules through fear, repression, and bloodshed. Together, with communist dictatorships like North Korea and China, they’ve formed a global alliance of tyranny.

Russia has fully crossed the line — it has become a terrorist state.

And like all terrorist regimes throughout history, it must be forced to kneel again. The Russian people, though suppressed and manipulated, are not blind. They’re waking up, and that awakening is inevitable. No amount of propaganda can forever suppress the truth that they are being bled dry — forced to fund endless wars while earning the lowest wages in the industrial world and suffering under crushing interest rates as high as 23%, soaring inflation and food price, etc...

Enough is enough. Russians are tired of being ruled by warmongers, of watching their nation plunge into isolation and decay, all for the vanity and greed of a regime drunk on power. The Russian NeoSoviet system is cracking.

McGruff: "Maybe Russia can use their testing positions to test out battlefield tactical nukes."

Any Russian use of nukes will hurt Russia more than it does Ukraine.
That's why Russians haven't used their nukes these past 70+ years.

McGruff: "Sounds like a good way to start WW III."

MrRelevant: "Isnt that the plan here.
Or Ukraine wouldve already taken mercy on its people and yelled uncle."

Cold War II is already well under way -- that's the whole point of mad-Vlad the Invader's Russkiy Mir and multi-polar Eurasianism.

Ukrainians are only defending themselves, heroically and successfully, against seemingly overwhelming odds.

So, we have the authoritarian Russian-Chinese-North Korean-Iranian Axis of Evil fighting to expand their empires against
Western democratic US, NATO & Asian Allies supporting resistance to aggressions.

Call that whatever you wish -- Cold War II or World War III -- it's very similar to what we had from 1945 through 1991 and very dissimilar to what we saw from 1992 until at least 2014, if not 2022.

Democratic countries in shades of blue.
Authoritarian regimes in shades of brown:

Strange way of defending ones self. You have an opportunity to end the beating but insist on continuing to keep taking it because your corner keeps telling you “youre winning”.

MrRelevant: "You have an opportunity to end the beating but insist on continuing to keep taking it because your corner keeps telling you “youre winning”."

So, your corner being the pro-Russia side?

Well, comrade, then here's your problem:

  1. No former USSR republic, now independent since 1991, wants to rejoin mad-Vlad the Invader's new Russian Empire.

  2. All 15 former Soviet Republics joined NATO (Latvia, Lithuania & Estonia -- 2004) or NATO's Partnership for Peace (PfP) (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Belarus & Russia -- 1994).

  3. All but Russia and Belarus remain NATO PfP members in good standing.
But Belarus has suffered under the one-man rule of Annexed Lukashenko since 1994, and has not had a free & fair election since.
That makes any Belarus expressions of unity with "mother Russia" highly dubious & illegitimate.

  4. None wants to return into the Belly of the Bear in Vlad's new Russian Empire.

  5. All seven of Russia's former Warsaw Pact client states joined NATO (Albania, Bulgaria, Czechoslovakia, East Germany, Hungary, Poland & Romania ).

  6. None of them wants to return under Russian authority.
So, Ukraine is the front line of resistance against Russian imperialism.
If the West loses in Ukraine, it will make resistance that much more difficult in whichever countries Russia decides to invade next.

As for who is winning:

  1. Russians have made no significant advances since giving up half their gains in mid-2022 -- that despite losses of over 1 million Russian casualties and over 100,000 Russian military vehicles and major weapons systems.

  2. In the meantime, two new countries (Finland & Sweden) have joined NATO and the Europeans have greatly stepped into the breach to backfill Ukraine's equipment and other losses.

  3. Ukrainians have held out for 3-1/2 years against overwhelming Russian numbers and insane Russian "meat wave" assaults, and they think they can continue indefinitely.
Is that "winning"?
Finally, Ukrainians are helping to redefine what the very word "European" even means, and I think that's really winning, big time.

Of course, everyone hopes Pres. Trump can negotiate peace in Ukraine.
But, judging by historical examples like Korea and Vietnam, such negotiations can take a very long time, and in the meantime, fighting goes on.

Yawn. No ….Ukraines corner are the neocon/Euro trash idiots propping up a beaten fighter.

My corner is the USA.

Seeing the writing on the wall doesnt make folks “Russian” supporters.

If they want to fight for another ten years…. Cheers …. Dont come crying the US for the 120 billion a year it will take to keep them afloat. That is all …. Thanks.
