The Republicans already have two disadvantages going into 2026:
First, Trump's name will not be on the ballot. A lot of low propensity voters showed up in 2016, 2020, and 2024 just to cast their vote for him.
Second, in normal off year elections the party in power tends to loose seats.
Trump won the critical swing states by single digits. Shave 5 to 8 points off the Republican turnout and the Republicans are road kill.
Yelling at your most ardent supporters to shut up and move on is the most tone deaf political "own goal" I have ever seen.

I am pretty sure that if Trump were implicated, the last administration would have released what they had! The problem for Trump et al now is they have spent so much time telling us they were going to release the information and the “list” even to the point of saying it was on the Attorney General’s desk for her review that now, even if there were no such “list” no one would believe them! Are they lying to us now or were they lying to us then? And if and when whatever information they do eventually release, who is going to believe that is all they have? They dug this hole and there is no good way out of it !!
I am not the issue here. I am a high propensity voter and this controversy will not alter how I cast my vote.
The Republicans cannot afford to alienate any portion of Trump's coalition in the swing states.

The assumption is that he kept a list of clients and that list still exists.
There are blackmail files, the entire purpose for Mossad and CIA and MI-6 is to compile information, a list. Epstein was working for Israel, with a side bit with the US and the UK.

Its also about promised transparency and accountability, or rather the lack thereof. Many people understand that you can’t make American great again without enforcing standards, laws and accountability. Those are bedrock principles in a healthy and functioning republic.

The WH press corps is often despicable in its bias but this was a fair question to ask. After all, the case has been around for a while and by now people in this administration certainly know the answer. Bondi’s disingenuous deflection (non-answer) was clearly a lie. And it stood out as THE CENTRAL QUESTION in this scandal because it is the first step toward understanding what went on.
