Indian Americans born in the US are displaying a marked increase in cultural and identity-based affinity with their Indian heritage, with 86% taking pride in calling themselves "Indian-American", according to a new report by the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace.

This is a significant increase from the 2020 report, when 70% of US-born Indian American respondents said that being Indian was "very" or "somewhat" important to them. At the same time, the percentage of those who considered their Indian identity unimportant was halved – from 30% to just 15%, according to the report.

I am with Teddy Roosevelt who spoke out against the use of hyphenated Americans. If you care so much about India then do back to your ****hole country.

Does embracing your Indian roots include shitting on the street and eating with your hand?

I had a French mother and a German father. I never considered myself as Franco-American or German-American or Euro-American. I have always been proud and patriotic to be simply American. This is my country, none other will do.

Indians born in the US have a marked increase in cultural and identity-based Indian heritage, with 86% taking pride in being “Indian-American”, according to the Carnegie Endowment for Intl Peace report.

A significant increase from 2020, when 70% of US-born Indian Americans said that being Indian was “very” or “somewhat” important to them; the percentage of those who considered their Indian identity unimportant halved – from 30% to just 15%.

FR posted——about 4 million Indians currently reside in the US, including 1.6 million visa holders, 1.4 million naturalized residents, and a million US-born residents.

The median family earnings of Indians in the US is USD 123,700, nearly double the nationwide average of USD 63,922. About 79 per cent of Indians are college graduates, compared to the nationwide average of 34 per cent, according to the report.

Indians are ahead of all the other ethnic groups in the US in median family earnings ranges. Taiwanese and Filipinos, with USD 97,129 and USD 95,000 of median family incomes, respectively, are in second and third place.

FYI

ndtv.com-——The outgoing Biden administration has relaxed rules for H-1B visas that will make it easier for American companies to hire foreign workers with special skills and facilitate a smoother transition from F-1 student visas to H-1B visas, a move that is likely to benefit thousands of Indian tech professionals.

The most sought-after H-1B visa is a non-immigrant visa that allows US companies to employ foreign workers in specialty occupations that require theoretical or technical expertise......mostly from India.

Jill Biden got the priciest gift from a foreign leader in 2023 — a $20,000 diamond from India

President Joe Biden and his family were given tens of thousands of dollars in gifts from foreign leaders in 2023, according to an annual accounting published by the State Department on Thursday, with first lady Jill Biden receiving the single most expensive present: a $20,000 diamond from India’s leader.

The 7.5-carat diamond from Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi was easily the most costly gift presented to any member of the first family in 2023, although Jill Biden also received a brooch valued at $14,063 from the Ukrainian ambassador to the United States and a bracelet, brooch and photograph album worth $4,510 from the president and first lady of Egypt.

President Biden also received a number of expensive presents, including a commemorative photo album valued at $7,100 from South Korea’s recently impeached President Suk Yeol Yoon, a $3,495 statue of Mongolian warriors from the Mongolian prime minister, a $3,300 silver bowl from the sultan of Brunei, a $3,160 sterling silver tray from the president of Israel, and a collage worth $2,400 from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Federal law requires executive branch officials to declare gifts they receive from foreign leaders and counterparts that have an estimated value of more than $480. Many of the gifts that meet that threshold are relatively modest, and the more expensive ones are typically — but not always — transferred to the National Archives or put on official displays.

The $20,000 diamond to Jill from India was retained for official use in the White House East Wing, according to a State Department document, while the other gifts to the president and first lady were sent to the archives.

Vanessa Valdivia, a spokesperson for Jill Biden, said the diamond will be turned over to the archives after the Bidens leave the White House. She did not say what it was being used for.

Recipients also have the option to purchase a gift from the US government at its market value, although that is rare, particularly with high-end items.

Embracing their Indian (Marxist) roots?

That can only mean one thing - moving further towards the Political Left.

2012 - 80% of Asian-Indians voted to reelect Barack Obama.

2016 - 78% of Asian-Indians voted for Hillary - not Trump.

I have not seen a national Asian-Indian poll for 2020 or 2024, because it is behind a pay wall.

The undermining of healthy assimilation in favor of balkanization and grievance group politics is just another of the fine gifts the left has given this country.

It just proves that immigrants and refugees are NOT assimilating. Immigration should be stopped completely for at least 20 years, especially from third world shithole countries.

Re: "The median family earnings of Indians in the US is $123,700, nearly double the nationwide average of $63,922."

Very deceptive.

Several million native born American engineers, scientists, and medical doctors, have been displaced by Asian Indians, who work longer hours, for less pay.

In 2026, the AIs (Asian Indians) will be also competing against AI (Artificial Intelligence).

End the h-1b visa. It is racist program to import one ethnic group to sap the best jobs from Americans. It is evil.

Did you read the article? They didn't say anything about hating the country. They were just holding on to some of their traditions like their food. I like Indian food myself, so I don't see what the problem is.

BS! They can hold onto their arranged marriages and smelly curry BO back in their own country. Only people who want to be American should be allowed in this country.

The Mean Girl Contingent in my niece’s middle school is almost 100% Indian. My niece’s mother is Hispanic, although my niece has the the characteristics of her father with very light skin and hair, and green eyes.

The Indian girls have bullied her into turning against her father and identifying as “brown”. She brags in school: “I”m half Puerto Rican”. She verbally disparages her father because he’s white.

“Immigration should be stopped completely for at least 20 years”

I’m going with 50 years. And every state should adopt what OK just did, i.e., making all incoming teachers pass an America First Test.
