Tucson icon Linda Ronstadt lost her capacity to speak and hear after a second bout of COVID earlier this year.
With the help of therapy and attentive, around-the-clock care, the legendary songstress has regained her speech, she recently told a high school classmate who checked in with her ahead of their 60th reunion at Catalina High School.
Though Ronstadt has regained her speech, she said her hearing loss may be permanent.

I talked to a person who went to one of her shows about 20 years ago. Said she sang a couple of songs which was fine but then went into a half hour tirade against President G W Bush. Said half the audience walked out on her. Her voice wasn’t good enough to excuse her insane politics.

Linda should have taken the words of wisdom from Michael Jordan to heart: Republicans buy sneakers too.
She chose great songs and she was a great singer
Her biopic is interesting explaining how she developed her voice
It stays away from her politics
I don’t listen to people who grab the mic and spew their uninformed uneducated views when the reason they have the mic is to shut up and sing
The media uses these idiots to promote their views. Tge celebs do it to sell records. I won’t buy her records for that reason
But she was a great singer
I always thought Linda Ronstadt was a good singer, though it seemed to me that she only ever did songs that other artists had already made into hits.
Many still can’t admit the truth. This is just one reason for the downfall of man.
Nobody wants to admit the are/were wrong. Even if it kills them.
That is accurate.
Linda has become famous for one thing, A GOLF saying:
You hit your drive and the other person steps up and hits and exclaims “That’s a Linda Ronstadt”.

I would imagine Linda sang into a lot of “microphones” in her younger years.

A second thing to thank her for is for saving Warren Zevon by putting some coin in his pocket by recording cover versions of his songs (list follows). Not everyone likes him, but many insiders acknowledge him as a rare if highly unconventional talent. It’s too bad that most only know Zevon through Werewolves of London.

The guy next to me went to the Catholic High School with our current press Secretary. He can’t stand her. Says she is a tremendous BEOTCH. She was always all about ME.
From what I understand, Ronstadt also has Parkinson’s disease. Which would complicate her recovery.
