Queen Victoria and John Brown were lovers, according to Channel 4, which says it has uncovered 'extraordinary' new evidence of the monarch's secret affair.
The British monarch of 63 years, from 1837 to 1901, was widely known to have been extremely fond of her Scottish servant.
But revelations about long-held rumours they were more than just fast friends are now set to come out in a new documentary, due for release on July 31.

Rumors about the two being lovers started during their lifetimes. There is a equestrian portrait of Victoria featuring Brown which was highly controversial as he was considered a servant. Brown is credited with getting Victoria to go out in public and start performing her royal duties after an extended period of mourning for Albert.

BBC produced a miniseries about them in 1997 titled “Mrs Brown”. Judi Dench played Victoria

I am not up on my Victorian era royals. Somehow I had thought that this tied into Harper’s Ferry.

Two questions immediately come to mind.
Could John Brown have escaped his hanging after all?
And, did Victoria like fiery and unstable men?

Yeah, my wife and I went to see a movie called “Mr. Brown” in 1997. Don’t think this is breaking news. I think people have known this for a while. Unless they’ve found a dress with a spot on it, I’m not sure what they have that’s new.

How about Lord Melbourne? I wonder if those two were lovers?

Same here. Had to read a bit more. The royals are a bunch of inbred idiots. WWI leaders were all cousins from Queen Victoria’s womb

Skoal brother wasn’t around yet so Prince Albert may be correct.

I think she was infatuated with Lord Melbourne more as a father figure than a lover. He was almost 60 years old when Victoria was crowned Queen. Movies and miniseries have chaded up Melbourne by having actors like Rufus Sewell and Paul Bettany play him.
