A Strange, Unsettling Time

Democrats and their hardline leftist constituencies are disempowered, angry, and growing ever more frustrated. Now is no time for conservatives to split into rival camps.

The celebrations didn’t last long. President Trump kicked off the festivities at the Iowa State Fair grounds. He was in Iowa to ballyhoo passage of the One, Big Beautiful Bill. The crowd -- as always at Trump rallies -- was enthusiastic. The mammoth measure is the centerpiece of Trump’s second administration. It unlocks the door to a huge boost to the economy and provides a torrent of new monies for tougher border enforcement and mass deportations, among other considerations. Promises made, promises kept.

Rand Paul and congressional bean counters, though, were grumpy about the measure’s costs. Paul still is. He’s scoring the legislation’s particulars statically. Trump is scoring the tax cuts dynamically. Trump is right. Revenues will pour in. The trouble, as the Kentucky senator should know, is always about spending.

Uncle Sam runs annual deficits and has amassed a $37 trillion debt because members of Congress and presidents keep spending like, well, they’re buying votes. We really need a constitutional amendment not just balancing the federal budget but limiting spending as a percentage of GDP (except in times of war and national emergencies).

Oddly, though, at the Iowa rally, the president floated a trial balloon. Maybe amnesty for illegals working in the ag sector and hospitality and leisure worlds needs to be addressed somehow, the president remarked. Trump said that he had been approached by ag secretary Brooke Rollins and his chief of staff Susie Wiles with the idea. Surely, they heard earfuls from Iowa farmers and, likely, reps from the Iowa Farm Bureau.

But in jumped Charlie Kirk to sound an alarm. Kirk is as staunch a Trump man as is around.

The left is coming unhinged and they want violence. It is no time for Republicans to fracture the party.

Don't worry, the Repubs will “F” things up as they usually do. The FBI and DOJ fight will tear things apart.
The ridiculous tiff between Trump and Musk will make it worse. And the Repub congress will go back into cowering mode soon.
It's like they just can't help themselves, it's their default mode.
And the Rats will sweep back into power in congress and we'll have two years of Impeachment trials.

Quite correct. The stakes, as they say (but it’s truer now than ever before) could not be higher. Musk must be somehow mollified, and realign with the President. We can’t give them a single inch, or show anything but a solidly united front. The left is unafraid, now to show who they are and will topple this nation given half the chance. This is a turning point; it could be a rout of all the evil that has oozed into our society over the past 30 or so years, or we could invigorate it, snatching defeat from mouth of victory.

This writer uses a lot of unnecessary adjectives.

Except, they won’t this time. Let us all pull together and not let that happen. Not now. Not ever again. Stakes are too high to complain, whine, or sit back. Scott Presler efforts showed us a successful.blueprint for the future in elections. Let’s continue to show our voters that we are worth voting for.

It is a good article. The old media and Deep State are doing everything they can to split up the Trumpian party.

We can win if we stick together.

The Egghead Cockeye (Hakeem, Booker and Pressley) claim their constituents want them to supply them with the blood of Americans. Americans need to start stocking up on crucifixes and wooden stakes.

“”Maybe amnesty for illegals working in the ag sector and hospitality and leisure worlds needs to be addressed somehow, the president remarked. Trump said that he had been approached by ag secretary Brooke Rollins and his chief of staff Susie Wiles with the idea.””

I am now starting to wonder if “Wiles” might, ironically, be the perfect name for Trump’s chief of staff.

For someone supposedly with her finger on the pulse of things... Susie seems to be deaf and dumb (or willfully blind?) when it comes to what the MAGA supporters are totally against.... ie amnesty.

“”We can win if we stick together.””

We can win against our enemy without... and have just recently. But can we win against our enemy within... ie the embedded deep state RINOs that are still working within the GOP to fracture, divide and weaken us... thus helping the Democrats. Time will tell.

Of course the Deep State and Elite Stream Media want to split the movement.

But movement is the operative term.

This movement was a covenant between long time disaffected voters of the Republican wing of the uniparty and a once in a century charismatic leader named Trump.

All the “noise” surrounding Trump’s last term on the stage should be expected.

In one sense Trump supporters are attempting to define the movement without Trump as its leader.

It may be that define is not the proper term, it well may be looking for a path to survive without Trump as its leader.

Survival without Trump is not looking good.

Clearly the neocons like Vance and Rubio as well as Graham have gotten Trump’s ear on the Ukraine.

To think Trump has not been floating trial balloons on some form of blanket amnesty is akin to putting one’s head in the sand.

And Trump must take the blame for thinking the Epstein stuff could be dismissed without hard feelings from the MAGA base was a misread on his part.

Trump clearly indicated that misread by his off the cuff response earlier in the week at that presser.

I’ve read comments talking about Trump’s “shift” on these issues most important to the MAGA base as Trump’s attempt to help the Republican wing of the uniparty in the midterms.

I don’t buy that.

I think Trump is getting weary of fighting knowing his time on the stage is winding down quickly and is willing to compromise just to easily settle things that will never be settled let alone easily settled.

Trump made MAGA a language and he speaks MAGA.

I keep looking for someone on the public stage who speaks MAGA and can make that bond that Trump did which created this movement.

Honestly the only person that I see on the public stage speaking MAGA is Stephen Miller.

I’m not feeling it from the guy whose first impression of Trump moved him to invoke the Nazi labeling.

Hope for the best and prepare for what has always happend before.

They just can not unify under the principles of the people who put them there.

Where in the “BBB” are the cuts recommended by DOGE made permanent? Why was there more wasted $$$ for this Ukraine debacle? Where are the serious beginnings of legislation to put a stop to this election fraud that has been occurring for years?

Where are the investigations into all the corruption we have been enduring for the past how many years?

The term “Strike while the iron is hot” comes to mind, but all we are seeing is the same old bickering within the party by ego maniacs without hardly a thought about what the voters who put them there want.

We all have hope it will be different this time, but in the back of our minds we all are thinking the same though “they are going to “F” it up again”.

Trump needs to shut his yap and stop picking fights within his top level appointees and make up with Musk and get DOGE back on track and push even harder for new bills to get the budget under control ... a REAL BUDGET ... get MAJOR reforms passed, and get us the “F” out of all these foreign obligations. Screw the rest of the world, we need to get our house in order!
