Three-quarters of the Americans who voted for President Trump in 2024 are backing further economic sanctions on Russia as it continues its war against Ukraine, a new poll shows.
The Vandenberg Coalition in late June found that around 77% of Trump voters viewed Russia as a threat, 75% backed additional sanctions, and 70% said it was “vital to prevent Russia from invading other European nations,” according to results obtained exclusively by The Post.
Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) revealed Sunday that Trump had given him the go-ahead on a bill he introduced to tighten sanctions on Moscow.
“If you’re buying products from Russia and you’re not helping Ukraine, then there’s a 500% tariff on your products coming to the United States,” Graham said of his proposal on ABC News‘ “This Week.”
“India and China buy 70% of Putin’s oil. They keep his war machine going,” he said, noting that his measure, which has more than 80 co-sponsors, “would allow the president to put tariffs on China and India and other countries to get them, stop them from supporting Putin’s war machine and get them to the table.
“[Trump] has a waiver; it’s up to him how to impose it,” the South Carolina Republican added. “We’re going to give President Trump a tool in the toolbox that he doesn’t have, after the July break.”

Thank you very much and God bless you.
“India and China buy 70% of Putin’s oil. They keep his war machine going”
Hitler fought a war for over five years without oil export revenue.
Rich Russian women may come to lack the latest fashions from Paris and Russian girls may not get new dolls Made in China for Christmas, but the war will go on.
I read the poll results. As usual, pollsters asked the wrong questions.
I understand this, but Ukraine wouldn’t agree to simple demands before invasion, or the EU would not let them. I doubt Russia’s demands will lesson after the costs of war.
Putin could’ve agreed to that framework and even signed on officially. It is what Trump was working so hard to achieve. It would’ve given Trump the leverage he needed to force Zelensky and Europe to the table.
“It has become clear that Russia’s stated goals for this war were a smoke screen. This war is nothing more than a bloody land grab.”
Of course, it was always obvious! putin is an evil man intent on taking over other countries.
I don’t doubt Trump is a master of seeing the deal-middle.
Getting people to see it is another thing.
Being free to act is another.
In this case, it’s like the time-share salesman (Trump) who wants your wife (Zelensky’s EU controllers) at the table too, so you both agree to buy.
That said, if you use or create all the leverage you can and they won’t agree, there is no deal at this time.
Agreed, both sides want the war to continue. But we want it to end for many valid reasons. This war could very well be the beginning of WWIII. If it is then Russia must be defeated now. Russia and China are very cozy these days. They could be plotting together to take on The U.S. militarily. Perhaps, the plan is to spread us thin in a multiple theater war.
I am concerned that Russia does not seem to be acting in their own best interest and are going for broke. The Russians seem to be baiting The U.S. to get directly involved in the war. Which should be the last thing that they should want.
"He had no clue."

If the EU keeps pushing it, yes.
I—> f it is then Russia must be defeated now.
No.
—> Russia and China are very cozy these days.
Of course, as a result of 28 nations coordinating against them and harming them economically. I don’t see they have a choice.
China is our biggest threat - and terrorism in our homeland.
Thank you. I was just going to make that same point.
