A deadly flash flood has left at least six people dead and thousands fleeing for their lives after the Guadalupe River burst, engulfing several Texas cities.
The Guadalupe River rapidly rose overnight, breaking its banks and overtaking the small, rural towns of Kerrville and Hunt.
At least one family is missing after their entire Kerrville home was swept away by the raging storm.
Video shared by KPRC reporter Gage Goulding shows the rushing waves are carrying debris down the river as heavy rains continued to pound the region.
The National Weather Service (NWS) declared a flash flood emergency for all of Kerr County, roughly 90 miles outside of San Antonio, after nearly 10 inches of rain fell overnight.
Heavy rainfall caused the Guadalupe River to rise rapidly, with the water level having already reached a near-record height of 34 feet this morning.
Evacuations are under way for locals living along the river, with authorities warning the of a 'dangerous' and potentially 'life-threatening' floods. Residents are urged to 'seek higher ground immediately'.
The emergency warning remains in effect for the area, as well as nearby Kendall County, until at least 2pm local time Friday.

All of the telephone lines are down.
A childhood friend that is driving to San Angelo right now messaged (sms) me about Kerrville.
She says it is raining where she is, but didn’t mention flooding in that area, thankfully.
(about 150 mile difference, so she may be ok)
I heard that it had reached Waco from the press conference. Is this true? If so, stay safe!
Thank goodness he is safe!
Thank you for Steve’s/AgendaFree link, luvie.
Prayers continuing.
That was from earlier this morning ... LV, please check in when you can.
Prayers!
Steve reporting that 23 girls, from summer camp, are missing.
PRAYING!!!
“All of the telephone lines are down.”
Sigh. SRV. He knew.
God bless the Cajun Navy.
They’ve rescued SO many Texans during these floods and hurricanes.
Yep…it’s been raining all day, sometimes quite hard. There’s street flooding around town and I’m staying put. I was supposed to go to a BBQ at some friends’ place in Georgetown, but they’re postponing until tomorrow, weather permitting.
I suspect the city’s fireworks over the river will also be canceled or postponed.
How are things out your way?

YEP
The press in the USA is dead)
By design too
It’s like Radio Free Europe behind the Iron Curtain during The Cold War.
Yes, and I can only imagine the fear from them AND their famiies. I hope they are all found safe.
God bless the Cajun Navy. 🙏♥️
It’s wall to wall coverage on local central Texas stations.
Nothing but Democrat propaganda
Real news maybe 1% of the time
Prayers for God’s mercy.
I’ve been checking the weather radar and it looks like a small “terrestrial” hurricane in the hill country. Very tight cyclonic rotation and cloud bands I’ve only seen over the ocean . Really weird.
This article is just too heartbreaking to read ... names of the missing...families pleading for help finding their daughters/loved ones....just horrific ...
I have family and friends in the Hill Country, and many live the counties that have experienced flooding. So far, all are safe and sound. Prayers for those who have not fared well.
