Unfortunately, trains remain undefeated.

Sounds like the driver wasn’t so ‘bright’.

There are plenty of drivers like that unfortunately. I was almost rear ended yesterday because I stopped at a yellow light right before it turned red. The person behind me (like many others) have no problem running a red light when it first turns. Probably the same in this case. But it’s not the same as running a red light. That train won’t stop like traffic at an intersection because of one idiot.

It's a good thing the train wasn't hunting down victims at the time.
A stray gun might have shot her.

Darwin wrote about drivers like this, they won’t pass along stupid-genes.

"The police department’s preliminary investigation indicates the vehicle had pulled under the crossing arm prior to the crash."
It looks like the driver missed the driving test question about what is the proper procedure when approaching a train crossing when the crossing arms are down.

Yup trains ruin lives.
My father lost his father, grandfather and great grandfather in a train / car wreck rushing home to make it to Thanksgiving dinner on time.

preliminary investigation indicates the vehicle had pulled under the crossing arm prior to the crash Those Brightline trains go pretty fast at times, much faster than lumbering freight trains so there's not much time to cheat around barriers.

Brightline runs through my town, and it kills people all the time. I think they want to die.

“lumbering freight trains”
I’ve lived 1/2 mile from a freight line for over 20 years.....occasionally I’ve seen ‘em boogying on down the line.

My nextdoor neighbors brother was on this train and caught his own video of the incident.
At that time the deceased was still on scene.

I stop completely and all stop signs, right turn on red after stop, and slow and stop on yellow lights. My truck needs a new paint job.

I don’t want another collision. I got T-boned last fall from a driver running a stop sign. Totaled my vehicle and I get @50% of the value. I have to make up the difference on the replacement. I cannot afford that again.

The police department’s preliminary investigation indicates the vehicle had pulled under the crossing arm prior to the crash... Well, there you have it. Only an idiot would do such a stupid thing.
Going under a downed RR crossing arm is the highest fined driving violation in California - higher even than not pulling over for police, fire or ambulances.

There’s a reason they call it the murder train.
