If not, why would she have groomed herself so well; why was her make-up, hair, and dress so perfect. All that takes great effort, and not for no reason.
It's a puzzle to me why some women spend so much money and go to such lengths to look good and then act offended when complemented on it.

Most democrats are ugly inside and out.
Taking time to dress well and look good is part of self-respect for a woman. It is not necessarily done to attract men. But, for a normal woman, it is nice to receive a compliment. Can’t speak for the man-haters.
This is a good example of how women think. The ones who like Trump will say it was perfectly fine, the ones who don’t like him will say it was creepy and inappropriate. Just like they will do in any environment when a man compliments them. Good if they like him, bad if they don’t.
