LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - A 15-year-old accused of raping a 7-year-old on a school bus in central Indiana has now been charged as an adult, according to NBC-affiliate WTHR.
WTHR reported a judge in Jennings County waived Landon Doty, of North Vernon, to adult court. According to court documents, the victim suffers from “moderate to severe autism” and is non-verbal.
The family of the victim said he was sexually assaulted multiple times on his school bus. Court documents say the alleged crimes took place on the bus while being taken to school in the morning/afternoon in front of other children.
Doty is currently being held at the Jennings County Jail, as he was previously being held at the juvenile detention center in Clark County. Doty’s jury trial is scheduled for Oct. 20.

Thank you very much and God bless you.
I really beg the question "Why was a 15 year old on the bus with a 7 year old?"
when I was in school we were never on the bus with Grade school kids.
Buses between schools and for country kids always had all ages.
As far as I know, all city buses would have all ages, too.
Really? What state was that in? We had at least two, if not three, tiers by ages.
My guess is that the autistic kid was years behind—and so with younger children. No excuse, of course.
And the bus driver ????????
City bus yes but this was a school bus. Our school buses never had Grade school kids with Junior and Senior high kids together.
The Grade school kids got out before Junior and senior high. So they got picked up and dropped off first then those same busses picked up both the Junior and Senior high kids.
Where was the bus driver? Wasn’t the driver aware?
Circa 1966, South Louisiana Lockport. This was common back then. People were descent back then and we never had trouble on my school bus. If something would have happened, us older kids would have taken care of it. Today even descent kids are afraid to intervene. You could get stabbed or shot.
All ages on the school bus where I grew up as well (North Dakota). Any horsecrap on younger kids would get you severely beaten up by other older kids and maybe even kicked off the bus as well.
The 7 year old was the autistic kid! He could not speak and tell anyone he was being abused.
The 15 year old was normal from the youtube video I saw so what was he doing on the bus which we have to assume was the short bus.
Robe people have asked about the driver but most short buses have an aide for special needs kids. It’s the bus drivers job to drive the bus, keep his eyes on the road. If a kid yells or something then yes he should do something. However a child who is non verbal, there should have been an aide on that bus.
This was caught because there are not cameras on all school buses.
Probably budgetary reasons.
At least where I lived, everybody rode the bus to school. High schoolers in the back and grade schoolers upfront.
This happened in the county next to me. Jennings County is not the best place to live. They are right up there when it comes to meth labs and inbreds. Jennings County also has a place named Country Squire Lakes. It’s a large community, bigger than most small towns. It’s full of lowlifes, drug dealers and criminals. North Vernon is not a place you want to visit.
His thingy definitely needs to be tried as an adult, that’s fo sho.
Mainstreaming has advantages for everyone !
I can only think it may be more of a rural route. Otherwise no good reason.
Ain't nothin' normal about a teenage male who sexually assaults boys.
Ahhh, small lake people. Notorious for doing drugs. Standard reason is theres not much else to do out there. Lotsa drinkers, lotsa druggies.
I know the areas around me where they are like that.
Aren’t homos usually a bit older before they start going after young boys?
My earliest school was three schoolrooms, grades 1-3, 4-6, 7-8. So yeah, quite rural and all ages rode the bus. One kid was well into his teens because he kept failing grades.
everyone being tried should be tried as an adult ... everyone ...
