Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy said the DOT will not pay to rebuild damage from protests that local leaders actively supported or let happen, during an interview on "The Benny Johnson Show."
"Those cities reach out to us and ask for grant money to fix the roads that were damaged or the bridges that were damaged by these protesters, which by the way, they let protest," he said. "They let them stay there, they tried to thwart Donald Trump from bringing in the National Guard or the military to put an end to the violence."
"We're not going to fund those. We're not going to help rebuild the roads that they allowed to be destroyed."
"I had a request come in to help repair the damage from the George Floyd riots in the Twin Cities area. I'm like, why should the American taxpayer fund the damage that you all were celebrating? Tim Walz was celebrating the protesters?"
"Walz opened up his windows so he can smell the smells of the rioters and then you, the taxpayers gonna pay to rebuild the roads that they had destroyed," Duffy said.
BENNY JOHNSON: You announced last week that the DOT will not be assisting in rebuilding of places that have been ravaged by anti-ICE protesters, criminal aliens torching and destroying cities. Can you explain your stance here as, perhaps, a warning to these sanctuary city or places?
TRANSPORT SECRETARY SEAN DUFFY: At DOT, we have a whole bunch, a lot of equity. So whether it's, air travel, airplanes, roads, bridges, we regulate cars, pipelines, ports, rail, passenger and freight, it's a huge set of equities, but, a lot of communities and states, all of them around the country, apply to us for grant money.

The leftist politicians let it happen and some seemed to encourage the rioting. Let them pay for it too. Maybe it will change their way of thinking.

A good start, but additionally some way must be found to prevent the leftist financial groups and funds from buying up all the devalued real estate after their rioting fellow-travelers have driven property values down.
