Sooooo overplayed. Not as bad as “Money” or “MTV” but it’s up there.

“Your So Vain” was recorded in UK at “Trident Studios” with (primarily) UK musicians including Klaus Voormann (Beatles friend) on bass playing the opening riff...

Carly Simon – lead vocals, backing vocals, acoustic piano, string arrangement
Jimmy Ryan – guitars
Klaus Voormann – bass
Jim Gordon – drums
Richard Perry – percussion
Paul Buckmaster – orchestration
Mick Jagger - backing vocals
Vicki Brown - backing vocals
Liza Strike - backing vocals

Mick Jagger did backup vocals?

I guess he didn’t think the song was about him after all.

Jagger’s voice easily stands out during the chorus.

I forgot to mention Klaus Voormann also played bass on George Harrison's first solo album, "All Things Must Pass"

He also designed the cover for The Beatles' "Revolver" album.

> I loved that album cover. Quite literally.

As did many. Fortunately, most wiped it off afterward so it didn't get sticky.

Sticky Fingers is an entirely different album.

Well, not entirely, given that Jagger sang backup on You're So Vain.

So maybe there -is- a connection.....

Saw her live in the Academy of Music, Philly, late 70s. Big fan of “You’re So Vain.”
